First class domestic is easy if you have enough points. But I heard that most int'l planes are doing away with first and extending business. From what I've seen, there really isn't that much difference between 1st and Business or am I really missing the boat?

On longer international flights there is a difference from a lounger seat to a true bed/cabin depending on the airline. On domestic flights first class is business class as there usually is only 2 separate sections. Business class international is like 1st class domestic pretty much I think..

You have the drunk pilot introduce himself to you before the flight as well.
That doesnt happen in business class.

All depends on airlines. American Airlines first is not anywhere near ANA or Etihad.

well, that is more the carrier then the meaning. but yea. American in general sucks. I recently went to Turks and Caicos and flew american from Miami. Planed made me think I was in the movie "Airplane" it looked so 70'sish. I fly Delta mostly. I flew Air Berlin to Germany not long ago and the service was excellent and plane was new. I flew back from Zurich on what I believe was a Delta flight and the 1st class was similar ( a little bigger ) then delta 1st class going to US. Anything with one of those new Airbus A380s or whatever they are. Have insane shit.

As a comprison, back in 2002, the costs were roughly as follows:

Virgin Atlantic - London to LAX - RETURN: ECONOMY CLASS - Approx £750.00

Virgin Atlantic - London to LAX - RETURN: BIZ CLASS - Approx £1400.00

Virgin Atlantic - London to LAX - RETURN: FIRST CLASS - Approx £3000.00

Morton, Don't worry, I flew AA many times and they're just great. I actually think AA is a tad better than United. It just depends on your Point A and Point B. When I go westbound I Fly either United or AA from Montreal Direct or thru Cleveland, Detroit or Chicago. When I fly Southbound, then I do Quebec city thru Newark...

OK this is NOT Virgin First/Business Class, but honestly, I can't complain. Last time was Montreal to LA for Xbiz360 few weeks ago, flight was a charm, agants are nice and very accommodating...
