In a forum full of insanely dense people, you really are making the effort to stand out.

And what exactly do you think the police will do? If they even bother to contact the person you're complaining about, they will just tell the cops they never said any of that and you're just trying to get out of a lease you just signed, then what?

Yep, pretty much the way it should have worked.

I agree. Call the fucking cops. Bitch stole that money.

The point is not "what will they do" - the point is to pressure them to give the money back or honor their agreement. You keep turning up the pressure until they cave and you make sure things are documented and the law is on your side as you turn the heat up.

Post the address up here. I wonder if someone is renting the apartment and trying to scam other renters.

I can't see an actual real landlord / property owner trying this shit.

she paid the woman cash for the month, drew up a contract with her license/ids/etc...

Shes supposed to move in tomorrow, the owner of the apartment just called and said sorry you cant move in because my mom has issues with me renting it out..

I've already spent your money on wedding gifts for friends, so i'll hopefully give you money back in two weeks or so...

The amount was $1,200

What options does my friend have? im pissed off as well at such a blatant scam, but i dont know if she has any options...fucking craigslist fuckers...

shes thinking she just moves in tomorrow.. she has the keys to the place anyway..

Let me guess your friend is female and you are being a white in shining armor.

Are you even getting pussy from her? or did you allow your balls to curl up inside your brain and convince you that "she is in distress and needs help".

if you would have had any sort of game you would have offered your place to her. get her smashed and slapped her around with your wank a lil.

but hey you tried to save the day. here is a nice pat in the back while some other big dick player like myself gets some puss out of that.

see just like i said, tell them youre moving in. and she wins. attorney TheSquealer knows all :1orglaugh. everyone else is just an ass

when people scam, they are using loopholes in the law. so theres no "just call the police". you do not create a common and successful scam when the simple answer is to call the police.

TheSquealer knows everything tho and hates stupidity

Actually, squealer was right, the person was obviously attempting to commit fraud and when their bluff was called they caved in. The fact that the unit is back up for lease right after the money was returned proves this is most likely a repeated fraudulent activity where the perpetrator is just hoping one person isn't aggressive at getting their money back.
