I will say that I do like this guitar and the way it plays.

I never owned a guitar with a scalloped neck, but have played on a few YJM strats and I really like it. Sure makes for awesome vibrato along with many other benefits.

why wouldn't you scallop the rest?

Also, many years ago I had an Ibanez EX (there was a # after but forget what it was) along with a Marshall Valvestate 8080, but ended up lending it to a friend for his band and never got the stuff back. Stupid mistake on my part. I will NEVER lend anything to anyone ever again. Unless then give me a cash security deposit of the actual price of the item it is not leaving my sight.

Steve Vai didn't want it that way. I also think it would make cording difficult.

My nephew has had loads of top guitars but his Ibanez is the one he uses the most.

I hear that. I used to have a beautiful (and pricey) ESP Ltd. yet I found myself playing my way cheaper Ibanez far more. I've always been a huge Ibanez fan. Hope to get another one this year if I can swing it.
