You blame everything on Obama. You have become well known for doing this.

Yes, I went there.

The Republican party has completely lost it. We had four years of a lukewarm Obama who barely kept us standing and the best the Republican party had was a former governor who left office with a 34% rating? WTF was the Republican party thinking?

You've never dealt with the law much, by calling it two different things in the bill, makes it's a problem, they have to be referred to as the same thing

I didn't read the bill and honestly don't care.

George W. Bush ruined us.

If crazy means "having common sense", then call them crazy.

Current polling data of NRA members in terms of some the gun control initiatives being proposed. Long and short, even rank and file NRA members strongly support basic gun control like background checks. And last I checked, the NRA wasn't exactly a hotbed of liberalism:1orglaugh
  • 1. Requiring criminal background checks on gun owners and gun shop employees. 82 percent of all gun owners and 74 percent of NRA gun owners support the former, and 80 percent and 79 percent, respectively, endorse the latter.
  • 2. Prohibiting terrorist watch list members from acquiring guns. Support ranges from 80 percent among non-NRA gun-owners to 71 percent among NRA members.
  • 3. Mandating that gun-owners tell the police when their gun is stolen. 71 percent non-NRA gun-owners support this measure, as do 64 percent of NRA members.
  • 4. Concealed carry permits should only be restricted to individuals who have completed a safety training course and are 21 and older. 84 percent of non-NRA and 74 percent of NRA member gun-owners support the safety training restriction, and the numbers are 74 percent and 63 percent for the age restriction.
  • 5.Concealed carry permits shouldn?t be given to perpetrators of violent misdemeanors or individuals arrested for domestic violence. The NRA/non-NRA gun-owner split on these issues is 81 percent and 75 percent in favor of the violent misdemeanors provision and 78 percent/68 percent in favor of the domestic violence restriction.
The poll, which sampled 945 gun owners around the country and had a margin of error of +/- 3, also found broad support gun-owners for the principle that ?support for 2nd Amendment rights goes hand-in-hand with keeping illegal guns out of the hands of criminals.? In fact, more NRA members (87 percent) supported the statement than non-NRA members (83 percent).

imo, NRA leadership doesn't care because they're in the bag for the gun manufacturers. Gotta keep sellin' guns, gotta keep gettin' paid.

Is there a link for this? What is he source? It's interesting data and I believe it.

Does CA = USA?

Here ya go

And before certain people shoot the source (because the poll doesn't agree with what they are told to believe), here's a quote from the article:

The Luntz findings are in line with previous research showing that Americans are nearly unanimous in their support for closing loopholes that allow dangerous people to buy firearms without a background check. A January 2011 poll conducted for Mayors Against Illegal Guns by the bipartisan polling team of Momentum Analysis and American Viewpoint found that 86 percent of Americans and 81 percent of gun owners support requiring all gun buyers to pass a background check, no matter where they buy a gun or who they but it from.

i know, they should be though. Handguns are the real gun problem. The assault rifle thing statistically is bullshit. I'm against them mostly cause I just honestly believe there is no real need for them and I hate seeing idiots with something deadly in their hands.
