Whoa..!! I guess you have proven baller status. Way to go man . .. What a pick up. How much?

Imortyl Pussycat 03-07-2013 05:57 PM

very well put together Nick, I think it's great and will save your reps loads of time. we are a traffic network and you wouldn't believe what % of our day is spent teaching new affiliates how to be an affiliate from banner design to properly utilizing their own stats programs. part of me wants to send them to their sponsors so I can get more done but we are all about the customer service so I educate all day long. been thinkin about doing some youtube tutorials myself lately. the only question is.....should I wear clothes or not? :winkwink:

Agreed wholeheartedly on all accounts.

Most are too lazy or apathetic to do anything when the blueprints are laid out in front of them.

just my personal opinion of course, and i'm sure some halfwit will be along any time to try to tell me i'm not entitled to it.

Generally speaking, i would agree with this. However, tumblr began mass purges as far back as 08. I got over 10,000 blogs deleted. I knew people that had 20-50,000 deleted. My point is that its not a new thing for them and they also realized around 2009 or so that purging porn and the auto created blogs was also crushing their revenues.

Build smart. Build big. Be consistent. Expect to lose it all.

i have a bot, i don't do it by hand. okay, it cannot do 50k at a time but it beats manually doing it - especially when it can take an afternoon to manually fill the queue only for tumblr to delete the blog the next day! :1orglaugh

Word.

Any problem if I quote these few words of wisdom in the second part of the tutorial? :winkwink:

And I would even add:

"And for each one getting shut, open two new ones"

That's the spirit.:pimp

Exactly. It's almost always a win-win scenario in fact, because the ones who DO do anything are your future biz partners, and in the long run will make you MORE money. Which is why this thread won't kill anything for anyone, and will result in win-win for OP and anyone who follows through with it.

What is the maximum amount of blogs you would create under one account?

Personally? One per account. Tumblr is very ban happy and if one blog in your account is banned then you lose the lot - spread them around as much as you can and hope some fall through the cracks for a few months before they get mopped up.

femdomdestiny 03-08-2013 01:32 PM

Can I have multiple blogs under one account there. Is that ok?

I've tried to add google analytics, but I've never seen something like that on analytics dashboard. No classic results, but something strange.

I have no problems adding affiliate links to text or the pictures in posts, also i edit the theme and add google analytics.

esham 03-09-2013 01:05 PM

This will be short lived. Tumblr bans fast now days even using proxys unique emails. This was good maybe 6 months ago to a year ago.

ctggls 03-09-2013 02:40 PM

I can't believe someone would really post this kind of so-called tutorial...

1. Tumblr bans blog really quickly if they are affiliate related and most of porn blogs are like this... If you want to try this tutorial at least don't use the same email for multiple blogs/accounts
2. Tumblr traffic is really crappy because it consists of surfer looking on their dashboard images where they already have lots of porn and most likely they won't buy
3. If you really want to do this then better customize your tumblr theme with some links instead of posting them directly into the posts...

Unflagged NSFW Blogs. Tumblr is home to millions of readers and bloggers from a variety of locations, cultures, and backgrounds with different points of view concerning adult-oriented content. If you regularly post sexual or adult-oriented content, respect the choices of people in our community who would rather not see such content by flagging your blog (which you can do from the Settings page of each blog) as Not Suitable for Work ("NSFW"). This action does not prevent you and your readers from using any of Tumblr's social features, but rather allows Tumblr users who don't want to see NSFW content to avoid seeing it.

makes no difference what so ever, tumblr WILL quickly delete your blog if it even hints at marketing and they are very, very strict. even watermarking can get you the chop.

I love all of this "Tumblr will ban you talk."

As always, it's quality over quantity.

I've had years old blogs that are still active. It's all about the % of promotion and the % of authenticity.

Spam the hell out of Tumblr with 10,000 blogs and of course you're going to get banned.

Build a few authority Tumblr's with real interaction and real followers and Tumblr will leave you alone.

I guess it's just easier to say things will never work rather than actually putting real effort into it?

And that's exactly the purpose of that guide. If you've read it all, you''ll notice that at that point, we didn't even uploaded a single pic in there. We're yet building solid foundations, following, reposting and getting followed back.

Quality & Authority - that's what we're looking after. :thumbsup

Read us on Wednesday, we'll see how to monetize this traffic in a smart way. :pimp

Cheers

Otherwise, you just look like another affiliate site. Tone down the banner farms and hide your links WITHIN the content. It may help to purchase a blog template or two. It shows you have actually contributed to their service, where others may not have. Make your blog blend in with all of the freeloaders. Participate, encourage your viewers to submit to you or ask questions (answer them, of course). Participate, participate, participate! I have yet to have one of my tumblr blogs shut down (knock on wood).

I won't spoil the second part of the tutorial that'll be out on Wednesday, but one thing is sure: We're preaching for the same school of thinking here. :thumbsup
