I have no problems adding affiliate links to text or the pictures in posts, also i edit the theme and add google analytics.

This will be short lived. Tumblr bans fast now days even using proxys unique emails. This was good maybe 6 months ago to a year ago.

:1orglaugh im not giving any hints. ive never been banned

I can't believe someone would really post this kind of so-called tutorial...

1. Tumblr bans blog really quickly if they are affiliate related and most of porn blogs are like this... If you want to try this tutorial at least don't use the same email for multiple blogs/accounts
2. Tumblr traffic is really crappy because it consists of surfer looking on their dashboard images where they already have lots of porn and most likely they won't buy
3. If you really want to do this then better customize your tumblr theme with some links instead of posting them directly into the posts...

Unflagged NSFW Blogs. Tumblr is home to millions of readers and bloggers from a variety of locations, cultures, and backgrounds with different points of view concerning adult-oriented content. If you regularly post sexual or adult-oriented content, respect the choices of people in our community who would rather not see such content by flagging your blog (which you can do from the Settings page of each blog) as Not Suitable for Work ("NSFW"). This action does not prevent you and your readers from using any of Tumblr's social features, but rather allows Tumblr users who don't want to see NSFW content to avoid seeing it.

makes no difference what so ever, tumblr WILL quickly delete your blog if it even hints at marketing and they are very, very strict. even watermarking can get you the chop.

I love all of this "Tumblr will ban you talk."

As always, it's quality over quantity.

I've had years old blogs that are still active. It's all about the % of promotion and the % of authenticity.

Spam the hell out of Tumblr with 10,000 blogs and of course you're going to get banned.

Build a few authority Tumblr's with real interaction and real followers and Tumblr will leave you alone.

I guess it's just easier to say things will never work rather than actually putting real effort into it?

Just signed up for your network and read a few of the articles on the blog. Good stuff. Anyway you can get me approved so I can start playing with some of these theories? username: nuid

And that's exactly the purpose of that guide. If you've read it all, you''ll notice that at that point, we didn't even uploaded a single pic in there. We're yet building solid foundations, following, reposting and getting followed back.

Quality & Authority - that's what we're looking after. :thumbsup

Read us on Wednesday, we'll see how to monetize this traffic in a smart way. :pimp

Cheers

Links ? :)

Its a bit too much oriented to gossips, hate and politics talks lately.
Lets make Gfy a good sources of info for new webmasters and for the old ones who are ready to build windmills for that wind of change.

However, tumblr is a social network. So--like twitter--you have to have a good balance of content & spam vs. socializing with other blogs outside of your own. Otherwise, you just look like another affiliate site. Tone down the banner farms and hide your links WITHIN the content. It may help to purchase a blog template or two. It shows you have actually contributed to their service, where others may not have. Make your blog blend in with all of the freeloaders. Participate, encourage your viewers to submit to you or ask questions (answer them, of course). Participate, participate, participate! I have yet to have one of my tumblr blogs shut down (knock on wood).

I won't spoil the second part of the tutorial that'll be out on Wednesday, but one thing is sure: We're preaching for the same school of thinking here. :thumbsup

two types of people will never amount to anything: those who can only do what they're told and those who can't even do that :2 cents:

I recall reading a HUGE post from Shap on here, explaining from A-Z how he built twisty and how he was living the good life in the Bahamas.. Probably the post that changed my life motivation wise.

Considering this and that our program will benefit from educated webmasters, we decided to share some of your knowledge so hopefully we will get some smart minds started and in a few years they will be the one writing tutorials.

And as he said... its nothing new for experienced webmasters.

Do you have a link to SHAPS post?

Thx
