I think the beginning of the end started in 2012 and is continuing now.

Fabian did a lousy job.

It was a great plan to take over the whole industry...but it got way too overextended and Fabian simply doesn't have the experience to do something like this. Hell, I don't know if anybody has the experience to do it.

The people I feel bad for are the hard working folks at their paysites. The guys at Brazzers are going to end up suffering for Fabian's obsession with piracy in the end.

I didn't know this:

Quote:

His breakthrough came in the late 1990s when he was still working as a programmer. Thylmann developed software called Nats (Next-generation affiliate tracking software), which linked up the vast number of internet pornography sites for the first time and enabled visitors to select sex films according to personal preference.

That's about the most inaccurate explanation of what Nats does that I've seen. lol
That description has nothing to do with what Nats does. Nats is an affiliate program software to get tools to affiliates, cascade billers, and pay affiliates.

And his work was on the original Nats version 1 correct? And I don't remember seeing that in the 1990's. lol

I remember seeing a few programs start using it around 2003/2003. But the big programs of that time were all custom backends...not NATS. And version 1 sucked anyway.

Wow actually that was great. Charlie Gasparino was excellent and informative. I learned something!

It's too bad he had to share the same space with those 2 fucking idiot dipshit anchors. I would have thrown my coffee at them and told them to grow up.

Not near as stupid as the people who were at the top of our industry in 2006 - 2008 who could have been making ten times what they are now had they done some things differently in regards to piracy. Not as stupid as the #1 company in both the tube and adult game who, from what I see, might be just a couple months from a total collapse.

There isn't an industry collectively as stupid as ours.

Three years from now when many of you start looking for white collar jobs outside the industry you will probably find that HR will LAUGH at you once you list your old positions in adult. They'll chuckle and think "These retards don't have any business sense. That's why their industry collapsed and that's why this idiot is here now looking for a job with us. Who pays for porn now?". Our industry is fast becoming a business joke.

I think that's a little unfair. What happened to the porn biz also happened to the music biz, starting in the late 90's. And yes, in hindsight people may think that record company execs were morons, but when events were unfolding what was happening was unprecedented and took a lot of people by surprise.

Robbie 03-17-2013 10:47 AM

Did anybody else notice that Fabian had finally stuck his head back out and started posting smarmy, smug replies in threads again? He started over on XBiz, then he popped in on GFY again for the first time since he got hauled off to jail.

But now that this story hit, and the Cyprus banks are having a shitstorm...Mr. Smug has disappeared again rather quickly.

I'm assuming either his boss or his attorneys told him to shut the fuck up AGAIN. lol

I am still here Robbie, no worry... it is just way too much fun to just listen to all of you spouting out your theories :)

Gozarian 03-17-2013 12:03 PM

Your sensibilities seem routinely offended by others' thoughts and opinions. Honesty and transparency can yield surprising results; penumbras never yield results. But I must admit that it is always a somewhat surprising take coming from a guy who 'runs' Manwin but I do hope you manage to adjust your bra and get on with your day nonetheless.

Not really Kevin. And why you would think it's funny for people who work hard to see this clown prance about while stealing from all of us is beyond me.
I thought more of you as a person.

By the way Jail Boy...this thread has nothing to do with "theories" and everything to do with Manwin being openly called thieves for "stealing" on a major U.S. network.

That's not a theory. That's a fact.

Now take some of that money you've made off the backs of other people's stolen content and get yourself some Nutri-System and a personal trainer. You look like the fucking Pillsbury DoughBoy. :1orglaugh

And you think people with xsales to "girls play flash games" are not stealing from you? I didn't see you whining about them. Oh, you probably like to drink free beer with those guys so its all cool.

Don't fucking try to bait me.

You're going on ignore. We already have been ignoring each other at shows anyway.
It was nice knowing you back in the day.

Compared to the porn companies the record companies are geniuses. You didn't see the record companies secretly starting Napster and The Pirate Bay while telling their decades old business partners the independent record stores that they are "broke losers who need to adapt or die, free is here to stay". But that's what exactly happened in porn.

People in our own industry started the very sites which helped to cripple the paysite model. It would be like Time Warner secretly starting the pirate bay. There is a reason they didn't do that and the reason is that they aren't fucking morons and they actually have a real business education. In our industry many people on top just roll around in coke all day, kiss each other's asses on the forums and buy drinks for their fellow bros at the shows. It's been going on for years. Well finally it's catching up to us have cokeheads and morons running the show. The hilarity is that even now many still don't get it or at least they pretend not to. Every single paysite sponsor and affiliate ought to be in here telling Fabian and others "Screw you! Get the stolen stuff off your site now". That should have been happening in 2006 but even today we still don't see it. We're collectively idiots. Let's face it.

Big difference being many of them in adult, proved to not be content people but scammers, card bangers and upload monkeys.

The fall of the music business was caused by nepotism and extremely poor choices in A&R. Many in artists selection/production slots are there because of family connects. Many have no business being there. The ill-fated attacks on pirates and civilians (grandma, dim-witted college students) only sealed the fate.

It is true many of the big cash makers are just mafia, mafia-connected or human crap. Sad really.

MSNBC is by far the most opinionated news channel. Yet SOME people actually think its the best source. Despite the fact even liberal studies admit its the most biased and least diverse.

CNN is more news based, but has horrible anchors.

Fox has an equal amount of actual news, and opinionated news later with a wider range of political opinions. Hence the reason it does the best, and has the most diverse political viewership.

Its not even debatable. Its facts. Wise up.

Might want to recheck your sources on those facts. Saw this covered in an article last week.

While you nailed it on MSNBC and CNN, Fox's programming schedule does not coincide with their vieweship. Over 70% of their viewership is tuned in for the Opinion pieces.

Admittedly, the percentage of Opinion Pieces to News ratio is higher on GFY.

Now, here's some news regarding Internet Piracy.

Judge: Aggregator of AP news can't have free ride

Quote:

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote rejected Meltwater's claims that its use of Web stories drawn from a scan of 162,000 news websites from more than 190 countries was a fair use of copyright-protected material.

"Through its use of AP content and refusal to pay a licensing fee, Meltwater has obtained an unfair commercial advantage in the marketplace and directly harmed the creator of expressive content protected by the Copyright Act," Cote said.

She said in a ruling released to lawyers in the case Wednesday and to the public on Thursday that investigating and writing about newsworthy events worldwide was expensive and enforcement of the copyright laws permits the AP to earn revenue to fund it.

"Permitting Meltwater to take the fruit of AP's labor for its own profit, without compensating AP, injures AP's ability to perform this essential function of democracy," Cote wrote.

Thanks that at least someone think of the people who work honestly... (I close my pay-sites few weeks ago)
What I wonder is what will happened when the thieves will have nothing to steal anymore ?
They will have ruin "the hard workers", and face to the lack of justice, they will have millions in their pockets... And what ?
I read here so many posts which are glorification that the thieves are the cleverest, this is disgusting!
