I am aware of how it works; however, when I bought in for my "fraction" BC was at $13,000. It just sucked knowing what it was.

It took two years to see a profit after the crash that happened two days after I got in.

Franck's advice was:

Buy.
As much as you can.

Anyone that took his advice and sold today would have made 2200%

For example if someone took his advice that day and bought for $1000 he could sell it today for $23,000

I didn't. Wish I did. You can see my reply on page 1. From what I recall I looked into how to do it but here in Canada it seemed like there a few hoops to jump through and I never bothered. The exchange..I can't remember the name but required you to send money to their RBC bank account or something.Sooo dumb of me.:Oh crap

Cyber Fucker 02-17-2021 08:31 AM

Someone took time to educate himself in 2013, I hope he is now having most wonderful life ever! I wish I listened to his advice back then too, but I was stupid, and now I see. But the good news is that it's never too late, there are always possibilities.

I actually bought 15 btc back when when this thread was :P Yea I sold them a few weeks later :error

fastbuds 02-17-2021 10:35 AM

BTC is the future!

ANAL PASTE 02-17-2021 11:36 AM

I am glad I didn't sell at 18.

Yeah, that is the thing. Even had I bought them cheap I'm sure I would of sold when they hit 10k if not before. A lot of the "investors" in bitcoin now have probably paid a lot more for their coins initially than anyone who bought as a result of this thread.

ruff 02-17-2021 11:51 AM

Here's the deal. If you buy $50k BTC now in any amount it will be just like you bought in at $0 years ago. Before the end of summer, BTC should be at $100k. So no one has missed the Bitcoin train yet. If you don't choose to buy in now, you will be reading these posts then and writing the same things. See my sig and get yourself some free information. Don't waste your time on anything but BTC unless you like smaller returns. Mastercard, Tesla, Hedge funds and the rest of the big boys will push the price up. This is the big time now. With these kind of investors, BTC may fluctuate, but it ain't going down and it ain't going away.

This is the thread that got me started with bitcoin. Back in 2013 when the price was $100.

Strange... start January you talked about investing a wooping $100 in your first bitcoin. Can you make up your own mind?

You seem to have me mixed up with someone else. Point to that thread.

Edit. You seem to be referring to this thread

I just can't do it.

I used to get this for nothing.

I previously held 4btc from 2013 but over the years I didn't hodl properly.

I was asking if it was a good time to buy BTC. The price has increased over 15k over a 9 month period so it seemed high but, bitcoin being bitcoin I thought it would go higher. I was trying to guage opinion.
That said. I started buying again. Little and often each day and a larger buy weekly.
I have seem my ROI skyrocket and it's amazing to think it's more over 40k.

Paul 02-21-2021 06:53 AM

Franck/Battuss bought me my first ever domain name :pimp

Anyone know what that crazy french fucker is up to now?

I remember that time like it was yesterday. You'd look at the main GFY main page and there would be at least a couple of Bitcoin threads by Franck every day :1orglaugh Dude was right!

I bought Bitcoin after reading this thread in 2013 and stupidly lost my Bitcoins because I was trading on the MtGox platform, lesson learnt! Don't keep crypto on the exchanges!

I'm gonna guess Franck invested at least $100k into Bitcoin in 2013

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ - Doesn't even go back to 03-16-2013 now :1orglaugh

I bought mine 1 month after this thread at around $80 per Bitcoin, so the price was probably sitting around $60 on 03-16-2013

So that's around 1,666 Bitcoins :thumbsup

Only worth around $95,205,236 at current price today 21/02/2021 (Not a bad return in less than 8 years :thumbsup:1orglaugh)

This has happened about 4 or 5 times now. We're currently at a record high, after the previous crash near the end of 2017.

If you don't need to realise profit immediately, think twice before panic selling everything the next time it looks like it's on the way down.

(Past performance is not an indication of future returns, of course.)

I do think it is different this time, nothing is ever certain in life and government could still crack down on everything. Regulation will be coming soon, the big money is arriving. This is well past another retail pump and dump

The 2 main factors in the next 3/6 months I'm keeping an eye on.

1) Bitfinex/Tether lawsuit/outcome - That's a rabbit whole of fraud and corruption
2) More big corporations adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets

This is the thread that increased so many people's net worth

Also, it is a beacon of HOPE to those affiliates that got anally devastated by the industry's shift to the tube model

When is it a time to BUY BTC? Anytime it is priced below $200,000

Well you would do if you had lived in Holland for 10/15 years or longer :)

It's possible I'm wrong but I knew him from other forums before GFY existed, this was 20 years ago and he was cool enough to buy me my first domain name because I didn't have a debit card/credit card at the time but I'm pretty certain I remember him saying he was French.

One of the first ever Bitcoin maximalists, Jscott deserves credible mention too, along with Dugmor that bought around that time and had the foresight to hodl

When you're right you're right!)

Franck first and then you have been right, you where/are both completely and utterly adamant that this thing was a buy and hold. Even today I'm not 100% convinced of what it will become and prefer to trade it (which has made me less than if I just had of bought it and kept it.

In March/April 2013 I had $30,000 I was considering investing in Bitcoin, in the end I invested around $1000 and I lost it trading it on MtGox. I never ever ever would have had the conviction to buy it, put it in cold storage and just keep it long term.

Instead of loosing $1000, I could have lost $30,000 :1orglaugh

The great thing is though, it's never too late. In the past month doge coin has done a 10x (although it's clearly a shitcoin)

Some of the DeFi projects have done a 30x this year, Ethereum has done a 20x over the past 12 months.

Once the SEC case against Ripple/XRP is either dropped, settled or they pay their fine, it'll most likely do a 10x too in the next 3/6 months

ace0r 02-25-2021 08:19 AM

franck's post back then was one of the factors in our entire office getting into bitcoin back then, dumped 3 reality kings wires into it. absolute life changing, just wish I had diamond handed it instead of selling off half in 2017 on the run to 20. Thanks franck wherever you are.
