Wow! You must be a regular genius to know all that :321GFY . |
I think this is a math problem and not really something to view as a moral issue requiring a stand. If you feel you will make more money accepting MasterCard even after deducting out $500, than not accepting MasterCard and saving $500, then you should pay the fee. If you feel you will make less money accepting MasterCard but paying $500, than not accepting MasterCard and saving $500, then you should not pay the fee. Simple math.
I'm annoyed to be gouged just when the economy is finally picking up again. Actually, I'd be annoyed to be gouged any time. But, at the end of the day, it is a math problem and my equation says SpookyCash is going to have to pony up to both CCBill and Epoch because doing so will bring in more than $1,000. I don't think there is a lot of choice there. What possible advantage is there in skipping the fee and making less money? |

but hey its a service, and they built that. you have choice. as hard as it is to swallow, if you dont like it start your own credit business |
Try looking at it this way : The extra $500 buys you a potential extra 37% of the market share.
There's also something else you can do : Look at your sales for the past few years and determine which percentage were mastercard vs visa. If you didn't get $500 in sales from Mastercard last year, don't pay the service fee and be done with it. |

So, wait, between the Visa fee and the Mastercard fee it's now going to cost $1,000.00 a year just to run a site? Wow. Where does the 14% that CCBill takes go? With all the adult sites online they have to be making a fortune. They should pay it. Heh.
:Oh crap |
I can't take anyone serious that bitches over $500.
If you have to complain about $500 a year you are in the wrong business. |

I could go for less but then I cant drink :( |
It's the principle of the fucking matter, God, are some of you dumb?!? As I stated earlier here, ZERO chargebacks this year. I am the epitome of low risk. Fuck, since I have been online since 2000, I have had UNDER 50 chargebacks. If I am proven "high risk", fine. THEN, I shouldn't be running a business because I have no clue about what people want in a members area.
BUT I have no fucking chargebacks really, going on 13 years. People love the sites, the sites are highly reviewed, my models are hot as fuck, etc., so what the fuck! Totally missing the point and just wanting to throw your dicks around like "aww yeah, if you don't make that much, fuck you". Really, douchebags. Really? Save your ego's for the shows. Every site I own, has had more thought put into it than 80 percent of what you fucks attempt to create... I don't even have to post my conversion ratios every week for my paysites, they are that good. And chances are if your pimping foot fetish, pantyhose, lesbian or ALT, I am blowing you out of the fucking water with conversions. True fact. But the purpose of this is not mine or your fucking ego. What are you, like 2 years old? I can pay a speeding ticket, but that does not mean that I am not in the right. I think it should be some sort of merit system, imho. THAT is the Goddamn point! |
I wish they'd do something where, like, clients who've been with them for longer than five years don't have to pay the fee or something. Just seems like there's a better way around this. Like digitaldivas, I've been with CCBill for over ten years and my charge-back rate has always been incredibly low. Blah.

You guys should put this in perspective, the local corner stores here in Australia pay $750 to both Visa and Mastercard for use of a machine each year unless they are given a discount by their banks.
It's a cost of doing business and should be tax deductible, just harden the fuck up and deal with it. |

Is MC realy worth keeping?
Most people I know only have a Visa card. Most people have more than 1 credit card too so if you do not have MC on your site, chances are most will have a Visa card. Best thing to do is just drop MC. I bet the drop in sales will be very small. I bet for most sites $500 is just not worth it for the odd few MC cards. Visa is the king. |

I dont use credit tho. all my shits debit |
I have both Visa & Mastercard. Many people I know have MC also.
I'd say MC still respresents a significant percentage of card holders. |

I bitched about Epoch and got the same responses ("If you can't afford it you're a loser...") but it IS the principle of the thing that upsets me most. I said CCBill would follow and look, they did, Where's my cookie for being so smart?
I should be King, as I said in another thread. But the doomsayers in here saying this will do more harm than good are overreacting. Some will say fuck it and drop processers while others will eat it, some may even raise their prices (as I will do). Whatever. But when that $500 becomes $750, then $1000, then $2000, then $5000 I don't want any of you "bros" or bro-wannabe's in here saying SHIT. Blowing $500 on nothing? Fuck man, you do that in one night with a few whores and an eightball. But 5G's and that may cut into your Ferrari lease or your Malibu rental and we can't have THAT. STFU people who calmly accept this MC bullshit. |

There is one anti-piracy person in EU who gets charged frequently for access to porn sites and she charges it all back. |

I agree with your basic point that it sucks. I also don't think it is an area where we can do much about it. If it irritates you that some people insist on putting their dicks on the table with "who can't afford $500?" nonsense, when that is not the point, please don't start putting your dick on the table too. |
YOLO :pimp

Hi, Sorry for the delay. If you have your own merchant account you only pay the fees one time. If you are using third party billers, you have to pay for each of those that you use. Mitch |
Quote:
If I already had a merchant account, I could plug into netbilling and other payment gateways like netbilling and only pay this fee once? |
Quote:
I fucking hate the fact I have virtually no CB's every year, am careful, spot fraudulent sign ups that the processors miss and STILL have to pay this fee as I am "such a risk" - I'd rather use the $500 towards hiring a model than fucking MC, the thieving cunts. But I'll pay, what choice do i have? Was gonna hold off upping my site membership but maybe $1 per month will offset this as I also use other processors, that's a lot of cash for nothing if I have to pay 2 or 3 times :( |

Im surprised it did not happen sooner.

You are 100% correct. We have many banks to set you up with a merchant account as well. Please contact our sales department for more information and feel free to post questions here as well. Mitch |
the problem is not only $500,
if you use CCBILL and Epoch need to pay $1000 for Mastercard and $1000 for Visa |
