I regged in '05 but I've been reading gfy for a lot longer

I think JT , he worked on building GFY, was the first name to register. Would have loved to have been part of building the place.

Old school here

Dirty F 03-28-2013 09:58 PM

Been here forever. Never owned an adult site in my life.
This is just a great place for trolling.

dillfly2000 03-28-2013 10:15 PM

I've been around, but always avoided the GFY world for a while, don't know why.
Don't get me wrong, I've creep'd with nonstop intrigue (for 5 years at least).

Been around for a while, in fact on a number of other affiliate/webmaster/seo/business type forums.

Judge me not by my post count, but by my many usernames.

But like the OP explains, I'm still a newb in the eyes of the GFY'ers

but Some day.... Some day :kisskiss

I'm super old-school. Hell, I registered here over 12 years ago now but for some reason never posted much. I've run tons of successful sites over the years and have had a blast. Sucks things aren't like they used to be anymore (and probably never will be again) but I'm hoping I can hang on a few more years.

:)

Dirty D 03-29-2013 07:09 AM

Good to see some old school folks in here, instead of the usual trolls and fake nicks.

Lurked here a bit before joining...
Been in business since 1999 and still going strong!

Currently purchasing sites with revenue and/or traffic.

I love my brother (Mike Vega) but if I ever have to work with him again on a daily basis, i'll kill myself. I am sure he feels the same way :winkwink:

I miss Mike. I've thanked him a million times for this thread. https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=453835&highlight=mydaughtersfucki nganigga.com

We had just opened maybe a week or so before (our first site) and because of his thread, we had so many affiliates sign up, and went from about 2 sales a day to over 50 a day and rapidly growing in about 2 weeks time.

Tell him HushMoney says hello!!

I'll quote that one too.

Have had the same GFY account since the day I signed up.

I joined GFY in 2002, but have been with Epoch since 1998.

This July will mark my 15th year helping people make the most of their online business.

(Shout out to Oystein!) :thumbsup

jgabra62 03-29-2013 02:59 PM

If 5 years is considered an old-timer, then count me in...I'm going on 7 years and I sometimes I still feel like a friggin' newbie!

I can copy that!

Maybe some of us low posters have a similar story-

I started 13 years ago right before Crescent blew up and I knew it was the right industry for me. Not an old timer though. in 2k, i'm probably the 3rd wave in.

Quick funny story.

One of the first guys i talked to, must have been 2000-early 1, was Amar who was then at Sublime.

Guys like quiet and Steve Sweet and Real Butts ( Nasty Dollars ) just ruled Sublime. So i bought some spots and the return was awesome. So i called to find out why their traffic was so good. And Amar said, listen, we have home grown traffic, everyone else jerks you around but not us. Our traffic is homegrown.

And i was like, oh yeah homegrown traffic.. but really thinking WTF is homegrown traffic?? He schooled me fast.

And i remember hanging up calling someone at the time saying, oh hey.. we need more homegrown traffic, let me tell you about it...

The discovery process back then was amazing. You saw something and just did it. i saw the sweetloads plug-in page in bustyamateur's library one day and the next day i was in Cybererotica's.

Fun times from a "little" poster :)

It's fun to remember... but the old days are just that. Old. These days are where it's at.

Imortyl Pussycat 03-29-2013 04:09 PM

Jel 03-29-2013 04:49 PM

holy fuck, took me FOUR years to reg here I now see lol, a bit longer than I thought!

SilentKnight 03-29-2013 04:58 PM

Got into the adult biz in 1995...launched our own company in '99.

Lurked on GFY since the early 2000s, and reg'd in '05.

Where's the time go?

astronaut x 03-29-2013 09:29 PM

Bama 03-30-2013 07:14 AM

Wilbo 03-30-2013 07:21 AM

My dreams of being a board whore never really materialized.

robwod 03-30-2013 07:59 AM

I've been in this business, as an independent, since the mid-1990's. My nick has never changed on any board I have registered. I registered here in 2005, although I lurked a little when GFY was still in its infancy and through the first few years that it was growing.

I'm just not one to hang around on boards, thus my relatively small post count after all these years. I probably have less than 2000 posts on all boards combined in the last 18 years.

I just come here for any biz, and then get back to work and enjoy real life :)
