I never mentioned anything about risk, or whether you "should" loan the money... I simply stated that you all assume he wants a 2k laptop, just because he said 2k, doesn't mean he was going to spend the whole 2k on the laptop alone.... If he is expanding his services, he may need software, a few months hosting for whatever.... submitters or submit accounts... whatever his "expansions" are, they may not be free.

You make a good point, but he has yet to explain if he needs a $2K laptop or not. He could easily clear up the confusion by posting and saying something like, "I would budget up to $750 for a laptop and use the rest on software and promotion."

That would require effort on his part, and clearly he doesn't want to spend any effort to get $2k. I mean isn't it sad he's mentioned a list of services he'll do but he hasn't once said he'll actually do something for the money rather than a 1 year loan.
