So I take it that the scraping the blogs that were on the thumblogger network, replacing the original webmaster links and reposing on your own sites worked our for you?

This is an obvious "he's not coming back" situation. And even if he does come back who'd really want to do business, do work in linking his directories, or building blogs on his free blog host? I sure wouldn't

I told everyeone that TWAN was not coming back in the second page of this thread and that he has gone for good, and people kept "hoping", thinking that thumblogger could get back up. :)

Some people just don't want to see the sad truth, but when they wake up, it's too late already.

:2 cents:

PD: Also, it's funny to see some other guys trying to spam their Free Blog Host run for their mom's basement to try to capitalize the people who got fucked by thumblogger going down. :)

Very funny. :)

Lol why would google send the traffic to another new domain? Google would just sent that traffic to other established sites. Unless he was able to redirect the traffic hitting those domains...that would pimp :pimp

Would I build my entire business around it, no. But 15 minutes a day, hell yes!

I have some link traders at LS that are flipping out 'cause I removed some trades that involved Twan properties. Who hasn't heard of Twan?

I have had a lot of users ask me if I was mistyping calling them a twat because they didn't know what a twan was. Lol

He's talking about stealing other peoples work by reposting it on his own blog network. I've already told him that will backfire since most people already have their worked on other sites or on their harddrive.

I would pretty much destroy anyone that stole my work that way. I would even pay them a private visit if it became necessary.

I am in the process of building my blogs back and I'm already seeing some of my traffic return but it will be months before I have a steady income again.

Caligari 05-03-2013 06:58 PM

okay everyone listen up and listen good.

i had a few hundred blogs on tb and sw for a few years, made me a lot of money.

but it's over.

twan's model didn't make the $ anymore and he closed up shop. happens all the time.

bitching about it won't bring it back, be happy with what you made on his system.

i am now drinking a few beers and a few fine, fine vodka shots to twan, because for several years the guy ran a stellar blog network.

3 cheers for twan! it was a good run mate.

Exactly.

I find it amazing how SAC can state outright that he steals peoples content and then come back to taunt people afterwards and still be around. :error

It wasn't free money. Only the guys that built quality blogs made any real money. Those people still have all their content saved online or on their hard drives. They lost all their traffic but it will not be that hard to get it back.

Silver_Shamrock 05-07-2013 06:10 PM

It really shouldn't come to a huge surprise that it up and died, as he's been neglecting all of it for better part of the last two years. But like a good number of you, I had TB and SW blogs that not only made money, but provided great SEO for other sites I own.

It does seem shocking that he didn't try selling it to somebody at the very least. That's about the only surprising part. It seems like that would've been the way to go, passing his project onto others as he moves on to the next thing. Or maybe he killed it because he didn't want anyone else fucking with it after he let it go. I can see him taking that route. Especially after all the work he went through to build all that!

We should give the guy a lot of credit for doing what he did for as long as he did it. It was a very well functioning network for a good run. Kudos to ya, Twan.

Lol. I hate to break it to you, Mike, but I made most of my money from the blogs I literally threw together. Actually, I just had a blog I put up probably last year make $350 and converted 1:156. It had 5 posts, 150 words or so per post, and some banners. A few years back, every blog I put up made at least a few hundred over a period of a couple months. I used his free hosting for testing purposes mostly. If it worked out well, I bought domains and focused on them. :winkwink:

tonyparra 05-07-2013 08:01 PM

Fuck twan fuck thumblogger i dont give a fuck no more talk about something else please thanks!

MainstreamGuy 05-07-2013 08:33 PM

Never put all your eggs in the same basket.

I still wonder why some of the guys who "supposedly" had 20,000 blogs with Twan are not worried and they look relaxed. Hmmm strange, is not it?

Or maybe they were just full of shit since the beginning... LOL. :1orglaugh

Hard to keep up a lie for too long. If you suspect of anyone, check at least 100 of his last posts, and soon or late you will find many contradictions. :pimp

The question is: What's their reason to "keep up" a lie? :upsidedow

Go figure.

Are you referring to me? I don't know of anyone else who's said they have that many blogs. I never said even close to all of them were hosted on Twan's hosts and I stopped using them a lot when G2B went down. Yeah, TL going down sucks, but it's easy to rebuild.
Here's a network I did a couple of days ago that took 30 minutes, mostly waiting. I had to stop because I broke the server..:

Sure. Could I ICQ you tomorrow during the day? I'd rather just do non-linkspun trades right now since I haven't used it in a while and need to overhaul the site list on there.

I own the posts as I made them. I guess you could call it potential SE traffic. Most of my blogs were copied 2-6 times across Twans network so anyone goggling a search term that I was ranking for is going to see several dead links before they click on mine.

Fat Panda 05-17-2013 01:10 PM

yes it is. I already see some of it. I can tell by looking at my traffic stats in each blog that it's the dead links in google that it taking the most away from me.

PornDude 05-17-2013 01:37 PM

Mikesinner, there is no logical way you can get the same SERP you used to have.

It just doesn't work so.

It's a good time to do it I guess with the new Penguin update imminent. I think you're going to have some trouble since part of the benefit of thumblogger used to be (from what I recall) higher than normal PR. Things tended to rank a bit better on thumblogger.com subdomains. But later down the road who knows you could do even better on your own. Good luck to you, I know you've worked hard. :)

On thumblogger story I remember he talked about the anonymous investors and about his ex-girlfriend who also worked for thumblogger, who was a dutch girl of around 30 years old. And judging by the story, he didn't look as an old man, more like 35-40...

I think he's still alive of course, but for some reason, he quit and shut down everything completely, all his adult ventures. The thumblogger network was in decadence and had almost nothing implemented in years...

Shit happens. All the time.

MainstreamGuy 05-17-2013 11:52 PM

Ok, here is the story of Thumblogger, he probably wrote the story a few years ago, or maybe in 2005, so, yes, he's around 35 years old now.
