the more monitors the better. especially when you're editing scripts on one monitor, ftp and folder on another, and a movie/music or something on your third. it's much more enjoyable.
one monitor just doesn't do it anymore you can only do one thing at a time it's annoying. unless you like try to resize several different windows to fit on one large screen. but that would be super painful imo. |
I use 2 x 27" monitors at 2560 x 1440 each and love it. They are dual iMacs that can run independently or work as 1 big desktop which is my usual working mode. I used to have a few more monitors and computers but decided I hated the clutter. My new workstation is much cleaner now.
Consider this: When you're working, do you have to move, resize, minimimze / maximize windows alot? If so, you need to add another monitor. Adding a monitor will really improve your workflow. I have 2 big-ass monitors as mentioned and I tried a 3rd 27" monitor for a while. While cool looking, I found I didn't really need it. |
I might do 3, but have to get my wife a desk for her iMac as it is on my desk and is my 3rd monitor space. I buy an extra monitor I buy an extra desk. Might be worth it.
