Icy - having you domains crosslinked on different Ips is not foolproof. Google can and will penalize for too many links coming off the same Class C IP block. Google also looks for and flags suspicious patterns of links. It is also thought Google will start reading WHOIS info to combat crosslinking. Crosslinking your own sites should be avoided - I learned that the hard way years ago - lol.

Fnet - I didn't know Suicide Girls is a 7. Well that is a psudo culture / porn site. AVN is down to a 6 now. Where are the rest of the 7's you are talking about (other than DMOZ)? Wouldn't you think that Google WOULD WANT to cap porn sites somehow to keep them from coming up on irrelvant searches? If there was not SOME SORT of filtering Googel would become a PORN ENGINE and porn pages would be coming up for searches for "Good Morning America", if left untethered.

KingK7 - true - that is a very basic operation. What I am talking about is where Google could be able to examine, match, and penalize based on WHOIS info. They may have the technology to do that now, but probably not the rescources.

That's what the danger of duplicate pages is not as bad as you think it would be. Page Rank and Reputation already do a good enough job of sending dupes to the bottom. The days of stealing someones code and riding it to the top is near over. Which, as a by product, will dimiinish the value of cloaking. It would take a tremendous amount of rescouces to find and crossreference every duped page. The same could be said for WHOIS info.

Probably a lot of the WHOIS info gathering and penalizing is done by human hands. They probably only have some sort of mechanism which can flag it.

Hey everybody - I have started getting back on my feet. I have most of my sites back up in a skeletal form, at least.
