No, as I said in my previous post, all correspondence after the first week were ignored so we moved on and I ended up writing the scripts myself.

As I said, it is what it is. For every one person who had a bad experience, a thousand more jump in and defend someone they likely never hired to begin with (not saying you have or haven't, just saying in general).

If you're providing a service for a fee then the bullshit needs to be left at the door. Either do the job or don't accept it, and if something comes up, inform your paying client(s) of such...

Perhaps you should have pursued communications for longer than a week, not saying that makes it justifiable in any regard.. But again Fris is the type of guy who has a thousand things on his plate.. He is constantly helping people on this forum and doing favors for folks here.

I would hire Fris in a second.. I actually did of sorts and he refused payment citing the work was too easy. But still work and time none the less.

The OP said he was refunded initially.. Then re-hired. I myself have never run into a freelancer who doesn't occasionally run into issues via life or work that has a negative effect on the work agreed upon or the deadline. People aren't perfect, and shit happens, being it justifiable or not.

I can only state from personal experience I find Fris to be very trustworthy and very good at what he does, unique in fact.

I do feel empathize with the OP and yourself as well.. But life happens, and again there are always two sides to every story. I myself would be very reluctant to walk away from an agreed* upon job after only one week after the start date if I had both hired and paid for x amount of work and received nothing. But that's me.

Fris ignored all correspondence after after the first week... wait, that's the same thing I said twice already. But, to break it down a little more for you, nowhere in that statement does it say or suggest that we only tried to contact him for a week. In fact, I never indicated the amount of time I spent sending emails and asking for updates, because that is irrelevant. The relevant portion is that he was hired for a job, he didn't complete that job, and after the first week, he stopped replying to all messages an emails.

Also, if you knew anything about us or me, then you would know that I'd be the last person to come here flaming Fris for something that isn't true, or that is full of crap... considering how many times in the past I have personally praised his knowledge of wordpress and recommended him to other people; even though I had never had a reason to hire him before. Then, I got too busy and needed some coding work done that I couldn't make time for, hired him and got burned. And yes, he was paid in full for the project - his terms since we never worked together before - and I had no problem with that given my opinion of his history. Turns out it was a bad choice on our part.
