Once she was on the floor, handcuffed, not moving and 2 officers present, there was no excuse for kicking her stuff down the hallway or dragging her out of the room like that. I'd bet that had more to do with his firing than the way she was taken down. I'd also be surprised if previous incidents involving him wasn't an influencing factor.

I never said what happened to Rodney King was "okay" or even remotely acceptable.

What happened to him was horrible, but it made him a millionaire. Instead of moving to the beach and never been seen or heard from again, he continued to do drugs and continued to get in trouble with the law. Eventually his drugs killed him.

criminal charges should be brought onto those two police officers.
let them face the law, perhaps they will come out the other end as better people.

I saw a woman who got to make her phone call and then was being escorted back to her cell - and refused. The police tried multiple times to get her to go back to her cell and she continued to refuse them. Eventually force was used.

You seem to have an issue with police officers. You seem to think that having a "power trip" is a top requirement for being a police officer. Well, do you have any friends that are police officers? I do, and their stories are amazing. Every day they deal with the bottom of the barrel - the people stupid enough to get into trouble in the first place. They don't have power trips; They just want to get through their day without being shot, kicked, hit, punched, smacked, or spit on or worse.

This woman was under arrest in a police station. "Oh, you don't want to go back to your cell? No problem, let's go to Starbucks instead". It doesn't work that way.

1. I could swear I saw the cop hang the phone up on her while she was making that call.

When I watch the video it is hard for me to know how much she is really resisting them because there is no audio. She is waving one arm around, but it doesn't look like she is putting up too much of a physical fight and more like she is being annoying and yelling at them.

I can understand that the office who was handcuffing her and took her down wanted to get control of her, but at some point you have to ask yourself what level of force is adequate. Handcuffing her is fine. If she was really putting up that much of a fight why did the other cop just stand there and do nothing? He could have grabbed her other arm. The two guys could have easily taken control of her without having to use a too much force. Instead, the one cop decides to slam her face first into a desk. To me that was excessive.

The department they worked for appears to feel the same way or they wouldn't have fired these two. By firing them and dropping the charges against her they are basically admitting that they are in the wrong here.
