hen? egg? if one side is armed, the other one has to be armed too i guess - at least that is what international politics teaches us i'd still prefer if no one was armed |

Look, I could give a shit how many rounds of ammo they have (though for actual guys with guns in homeland security it's a LOT more than 650 rounds). I have had my current shotgun for 10 years. Bought a box of shells. I think I've shot it 5 or 6 times (that's 5 or 6 shots total). I still have the box of shells sitting in the closet. By your math, I should be shooting a box of shells every hour or so 24/7 lol Have Homeland Security ever had a "shootout" with "bad guys" or actually fired their weapons in any type of situation other than practice? |

Of the nearly 9,000 delivered MaxxPro units to the military, the Department of Homeland Security is apparently taking delivery of an undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ?Mine Resistant Protected? MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.
http://modernsurvivalblog.com/wp-con...ap-vehicle.jpg The International® MaxxPro® is Navistar Defense?s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle and incorporates the latest design in armoring technology. Extensively tested by the military and used in theater today, the MaxxPro features a V-shaped hull and other design features that greatly improve survivability. MaxxPro® MRAP specifications: Length: 254″ (21.2 feet) Width: 102″ (8.5 feet) Height: 120″ (10 feet) Wheel base: 153″ (12.8 feet) Curb weight: 37,850 lbs. (18.9 tons) Engine: MaxxForce® 9.3 The MaxxPro MRAP is built to withstand ballistic arms fire, mine blasts, IEDs, and other emerging threats. Its V-shaped hull helps deflect blasts out and away from the crew and its armoring can be customized to meet any mission requirement. |
Gebus chist!
WTF? [T]he Department of Homeland Security is apparently taking delivery (apparently through the Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico VA, via the manufacturer ? Navistar Defense LLC) of an undetermined number of the recently retrofitted 2,717 ?Mine Resistant Protected? MaxxPro MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.? These MRAP?s ARE BEING SEEN ON U.S. STREETS all across America by verified observers with photos, videos, and descriptions.? Regardless of the exact number of MRAP?s being delivered to DHS (and evidently some to POLICE via DHS, as has been observed), why would they need such over-the-top vehicles on U.S. streets to withstand IEDs, mine blasts, and 50 caliber hits to bullet-proof glass? In a war zone? yes, definitely. Let?s protect our men and women. On the streets of America? ?? ? ?They all have gun ports? Gun Ports? In the theater of war, yes. On the streets of America?? Seriously, why would DHS need such a vehicle on our streets? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nZSPGzmVv3...rmored+car.jpg 2,717 of them? Is this going to be Obama's new motorcade? Are you fucking kidding me? Guess they want to ready for any Tea Party uprisings! |
so they can buy mine resistance for north america, but not the iraq war?

Hey, we saw a convoy of those crazy looking MRAP's a few weeks ago driving down Rancho Blvd. here in Vegas at night.
We didn't know what they were until you guys just posted those pics. |

i have no idea how many they plan to acquire of the 2700, but as of right now, it's the 16. |

With Iraq they were given full access. |

Everything I see is they ordered all 2717 of them This is scary, there are things in place that keep the military from being used for certain things inside the US, now Obama seems to be building a civilian force that's completely under his command that using the Patriot act can do just about anything they want. Buy up ammo to keep civilians from getting it Spy on the AP news service Spy on the US population Target conservative groups finances increasing drone usage, can't wait till one of those is used on US soil Homeland Security released 1,000's of prisoners because they said they couldn't afford to keep them? |
i wouldn't be surprised.
hey, let's retask that shit! what else we gonna do with all the returning war equipment and professionals. put em to work right here in good ole usa. |

The evening news showed scenes of reporters AT battle scenes while bullets were flying in Vietnam. And yes, they then went into burnt out villages and showed kids and women (civilians) dead everywhere. They weren't "allowed" into "approved areas" in Vietnam, they went everywhere. There were LOTS of gonzo journalists everywhere in Vietnam. But as usual...you seem to want to try and be contrarian in every annoying way you can when it comes to discussions about the govt. :( I get it man, you feel totally free and trust that will never change. I understand. Some of us do not feel that way. I see "baby steps" towards less freedom in our country. And I believe in a free press, free speech, right to privacy...and the bigger the govt. gets, the less I trust them. That's just the way I feel about it. And the history of what our govt. does...right up until today...doesn't make me feel any better about them in any way. |
Here you go Rochard...this is why the Bush administration made damn sure to keep the press on a leash in Afghanistan and Iraq. And why Obama is doing the same thing now:

Fake Story? Are you that ignorant? You're really reaching on getting a deal on bullets, when has the US government ever looked for a deal? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...gun-ammunitio/ 1.6 billion rounds, 750 million more over 5 years. There is no reason for HOME land security to have that much ammo. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1797069.html Please tell me why the Social Security Agency needs 174,000 bullets for 295 agents? 589 rounds per special agent? |

I'm sure that Mark will say you're posting fake stories again though. (these people from Canada are experts on life here in the U.S.) |

You live around LA, right? LA has 'em too - complete with gun ports. http://www.dpdproductions.com/photos...ehicles/15.jpg This is nothing new; SWAT teams and local PDs in large cities have always had this. Check this out - they assault rifles too! WTF? Why does the city of San Diego need assault rifles? Why do they need two thousand of them? I don't know.... Maybe they need a dozen at every major US airport and port and border checkpoint? |

Why would they need them at airports, are people coming over in tanks? No, underwear bomb's |
well, maybe congress can do something right, let's hope this makes it all the way through
Lawmakers voted late Wednesday for limits on the amount of ammunition that can be purchased by the Department of Homeland Security. Read more: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...#ixzz2WbU1plsn Follow us: @washtimes on Twitter seems even they thought it excessive. |

Jesus Christ...the office of "Homeland Security" didn't even exist until recently (9-11?) and now it's suddenly vital to our very existence and has 135,000 gun carrying officers?
Nice little army they have there. :( |

I wonder how many sites the DHS is required to secure. Thousands of airports, ports, government buildings, borders, oil storage facilities.... Not too far from me in Martinez California there is a huge oil refinery with dozens of massive storage containers. The only think preventing someone from leaving the freeway and driving right up to these huge tanks is a chain link fence. Every refinery should have two or three of these armored trucks. Ironically, on my drive up from LA yesterday I saw a DHS "tactical command center" truck on the freeway... |
