Stupid hahaha got his dog killed acting like a hahaha, end of story.
Owner instigated the situation.

Maybe, didn't train it well enough.
STRUGGLED such that his dog felt compelled to try to intervene.

Either way, not the dogs fault whatsoever.

Not too much the cops could have done aside from uncuff the owner, but since he had already resisted ....

The dude clearly thought he was being a smart ass. Why not just go about his business and let the police do theirs. As a result, a dog has been shot dead. What a waste.

One thing i will say though. After the dog took a couple of shots, why not put the poor thing out of it's misery quicker? The cop aimed the gun as if he would only shoot again if the dog got back up. Just finish the job that had already been started and show some mercy...

I suspect it was bullshit them bothering the guy in the first place (he was acting like a jackass for sure), but I don't see it as wrong shooting the dog once it started attacking them. If you know anything about dogs, you know it was about to go ape shit. I find it a bit hard to put the entire situation into context as right or wrong because of that.

The owner had the dog poorly trained so I also agree this falls in the owner's lap, but the cop didn't need to shoot the dog either. All these years and modern technological advances and the best thing the LAPD can come up with to subdue a dog is a bullet? Weak.

I see this is already floating around on Facebook and some people are bitching loudly. I have a dog myself, but when police stage a raid or there is a hostage situation and you have a dozen cops walking around with assault rifles and they say "leave the area" you don't linger and take video.

however preceding that, they chose to get involved and engage with him.
they are cops..on public duty....smile for the camera.

From what I have seen on various social media posts, there is another video that shows more than what was shown in this video. The guy was getting in the way of a hostage situation and had been instructed to leave. Instead he rolled all his windows down, turned up the music in the car and started harassing the cops, not just videoing them. They have a serious situation they are dealing with and they don't need some punk inciting others or interfering in their duties to the rest of us. :2 cents:

Look, I have a dog. I have two fucking dogs I guess. When the video started I was wondering WTF these cops were going to do because everyone was so outraged. I guess I was expecting to see a cop just come up and shoot it. When the cop first approached the guy I got worried.

Even the narrators are laughing at what an idiot the guy is being. When he put the dog in the car I could see all the windows were all the way down and thought, "there is no way that is keeping the dog secured." When the cops approached and the dog started barking I knew it was too late, the dog was coming out. The dog struck twice; I thought it had been tazed, but I am not going back to watch it, you can. When it made the second strike the cop did what he had to do. I would not want it coming after me either; I would use whatever was most efficient.

To those that think a baton to the dog's face have never been in a fight with a dog; they do not have predictable moves like a human does. You could get hurt pretty bad trying to hit a rott hard enough to make him give up trying to help his owner.

I been attacked and bitten by dogs before but most of them are harmless. They take one little bite and run off. All you really need is a baton or something to hit them once if necessary. Or even a fucking taser. But 4 shots from a gun? Seems like that cop is on a power trip. Sad to see. If you like animals, you don't really give a fuck if you get bit as long as you don't get rabies. all they had to do is tell the owner to calm his dog down. but they did it the wrong way and killed something that was innocent. in a really bad way...
