$50 million in meth sales on the line

You guys are talking about Twilight right?

AmeliaG 08-19-2013 05:22 PM

Skyler has never been about morality.

Skyler has always been about control.

She threatened Walt with divorce, when he did not want one. As soon as he signed, then she held the power by not signing.

She liked controlling Walt and threatened him with his kids etc. when she lost control.

No way was she going to go for Hank offering to step in and take control.

I think her character has been totally consistent.

I don't get it - these shoes are simple classic design, you can buy those at any brand for like 100, 200$ tops. What idiot would pay 625?

i looked at her on the divorce as caving in, then she lets ww back in the house and goes and bangs ted to get even. i guess i can see that as some sort of control, but hmm, not sure.

+ i always thought she was playing catch up....ww's constant dissapperances over the early seasons and she always took marie's crap up until she would explode over it or be absolutely forced to deal with it.

not to mention her acting like she did on the bathroom floor with walt.

who knows though, one never tries to dissect gossamer right? :winkwink:

but it's fun anyhoo eh

The type of idiot who would take over a meth wholesaling business, minus its key source of competitive advantage.

Hank doesn't know about Skyler's involvement with the money laundering or the situation with Ted Beneke. Hank is only looking at her as the victim at that point when they meet at the diner. Hank says to Skyler something along the lines of "you need to get out in front this and prove to everyone that you have nothing to hide." Problem is that Skyler has a lot to hide.

was it weird that lydia had the entire cooking crew killt just to get a 10% increase in quality? it was like 68%->78%. seems harsh for not a big roi. ww was cooking at what was it 98% ?

that makes sense. but either way, skyler has a lot to hide right? so it just seems weird (to me) that skyler, the woman who was smoking in the house a couple seasons ago to hasten along walt's cancer she loathed him that much, has fully got his back now and was a nurturing wife on the bathroom floor.

i think there must be a big reason to do that. either to placate skyler haters or to bring her into the ending based on this. not saying it's a bad thing or sullies the show, as per usual, i enjoy chatting about the show.

Yeah, gotta be something more than just the small increase in quality. I thought Walt's was 99.1% pure or higher but that Gayle would need a gas chromatograph(sp?) to determine exactly.

If Skyler only knew about it for the amount of time that Hank is thinking she knew about it, and the only reason she didn't say anything was because she was scared, then I think it's reasonable to portray her as a victim.

I think there is a chance that Skyler still does flip on Walt. With Walt's cancer back and if it looks like he isn't gonna be able to beat it this time maybe he has Skyler flip on him just so she can be able to keep the kids for sure.

Exactly. Hank himself admits that he only has pieces of the puzzle. He has no idea how deeply involved in all of this Skyler is.

I think, if nothing else, he wants to believe she is just the victim here, but when she lawyered up and wouldn't talk to her sister I think he might be changing his mind.

it's another reason that suggests to me ww will be back cooking.

all that money being made such a big deal, i mean the scene with big dude laying on it was classic, but just the sheer spectacle of that fucking cube of cash, it was over the top, perhaps a reason to go over the top with that + ww's speech on how important that money is, is that money is going to get lost/taken/used.

i can see shrader seeing her as strictly a victim, but only due to his own ego blinding him from his intellect and consequently, seeing her victimization as an opportunity to finally get heisenberg. i mean he wasn't meeting her in the diner to console a victim, he was there to take advantage of what his emotions causing him to see as a victim that he could exploit.

As much as I liked the ending you came up with, it wouldn't be bloody enough. I think everyone with the exception of Walt is going to die. As far as Hank wrestling with acceptance, I don't see it. Hank hasn't been this upset since Marie called his mineral collection rocks. Hank is more than a little fucking pissed at Walt.

Oh and Skylar is a cunt for having to make Walter Jr. almost beg her to fix the bacon on Walt's plate for his birthday.

I don't see it either, the first two episodes of this season ahve been building her up to be more of a hard ass herself.

Telling Lydia to leave and never return, siding with Walt even when Hank was offering a way out. Plus don't forget she had an affair before Walt became a drug dealer so she is a self serving cunt and has a history of it.

Walt had been cooking meth for a while before Skyler had the affair with Ted Beneke in season 3.

I believe the reason was that Lydia had a $50 million order from the Czech Republic which required higher purity and that meth lords crew wouldn't let anyone else cook on their turf, so it wasn't like she could just run a competing kitchen.

I agree the most fun moment in this episode is totally when Huell and Saul Goodman?s other henchman hit the storage space to move the huge stacks of cash and just have to lie down on them.

looky_lou 08-19-2013 11:03 PM

Moving forward:

Hank gets Jessie out of the jail thinking that he will be able to get info from him and prevent him from spilling the beans to anyone else.

Lydia and Todd either lure Jesse to come and cook for them or possibly kidnap him and force him to cook for them against his will.

Walt fakes the deaths of himself, Skyler and the kids in a shootout / fire / explosion at the car wash. Hank and Marie might even be some of the remains inside assumed to be Walt and his family.

Walt, Skyler and the kids disappear to the North East and assume new identities through the guy Saul referred him to a few seasons ago, but Skyler had spent the money needed paying Ted's tax debts.

Walt heads back to Albuquerque to finish up loose ends. The ricin is for Lydia. She is always drinking coffee or something when they meet in a restaurant. He knows he can poison her easily at a meeting. The big gun is to take out Todd and the rest of his gang and rescue Jesse.

-----------------------------------------------------

What do you guys think about the radio controlled car in the in front of Hanks house?

I think it means something. Maybe Walt will use a remote controlled car to kill Hank. Drive a bomb into his garage.

Honestly, when she said the name Todd, I had forgotten who he was until he popped up on top of the manhole.

I think we'll be seeing more of him in these final episodes.

I get designer shoes when they look different or special, but these are just basic black leather heels with red sole. Thats not of special category. If you take some quality high heels in 150$ range and slapped this brand name it would be exactly the same thing.

interesting that the main characters are all so completely serious that the henchmen are used for occasional comic relief.

Yes I still hate her. Not only is the actress who plays the character of Skylar BY FAR THE WORST ACTOR ON THE SHOW the character of Skylar is a dumb pig whore.

The only other character on that show I hate is her shoplifting/baby stealing/neurotic dumb sister.

Oh and Giancarlo Esposito got ROBBED for the best supporting actor award. Aaron Paul got the award. He is good but Giancarlo (Gus) was epic!

What he did as uncle tio... with no lines, a wheelchair bell and facial expressions was extraordinary.
How he got nominated and lost to some guy from Justified, ill never understand.

I thought the M60 was a weird choice. But maybe for someone who doesn't have much gun knowledge it makes sense he would pick the biggest gun he could get, not realizing it's more of a support weapon. He needs something agile and light like the MP5, or maybe the AK-S.

M60 is a crew based weapon and a newbie might get killed before even has a chance to use it. The writing on Breaking Bad is so good I'll bet there's a semi-comical scene when he tries to work that thing for the first time.

interesting article written by anna gunn

http://www.today.com/entertainment/b...sue-8C10995619

At some point on the message boards, the character of Skyler seemed to drop out of the conversation, and people transferred their negative feelings directly to me. The already harsh online comments became outright personal attacks. One such post read: ?Could somebody tell me where I can find Anna Gunn so I can kill her?? Besides being frightened (and taking steps to ensure my safety), I was also astonished: how had disliking a character spiraled into homicidal rage at the actress playing her?

But I finally realized that most people?s hatred of Skyler had little to do with me and a lot to do with their own perception of women and wives. Because Skyler didn?t conform to a comfortable ideal of the archetypical female, she had become a kind of Rorschach test for society, a measure of our attitudes toward gender.
