Man of Steel was a fucking awesome kick-ass movie - I loved it. Sharp eyed viewers (like me!) noticed hints at the next movie but I won't spoil it here.

But the sequel to star Batman and Superman looks like its dying fast. Ben Affleck is a bad idea of course but the big money people are placing their bets on Chris Nolan's next movie, Interstellar (Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaguhey, Michael Cain, John Lithgow, and written by Chris Nolan and Kip Thorn (Scientist)). They also just added Casey Affleck to the cast). Battle of the bro's?

So.... it appears that even Hollywood is ready for super hero movies to fail.

I felt the same way. When they announced Heath Ledger was going to be the joker I thought it was a terrible idea. It ended up being a genre defining performance.

I will go into this with an open mind. Maybe Ben has something inside him we haven't seen yet and he will be great at this.

Rolled my eyes when I read the title, was like "duh, no shit". Then realized it didn't say "Ben Affleck is ButtMan".

What happened to Christian Bale?

He has said he is no longer going to play Batman. He wants to do other things.

I read a rumor that he supposedly turned down a deal to be batman in this new superman/batman movie that would have paid him around $50 million.

It would be damn hard to turn down that kind of money for what would likely be a co-staring role and would probably only take 3-6 months to film.

so i read a bit more about the script, this is batman v superman, ummm, wouldn't superman destroy batman in about 2 seconds? superman is superhuman, indestructrible, batman has some nifty gadgets and is human. that armour can't protect him from superman, + it seems like they are bringing over much of the cast from the dark knight trilogy so it's fair to say the batman, while not bale, will be similar. but that batman got his ass kicked continually, by humans, hell, the joker beat him.

i can kinda see a script, superman being on earth is causing aliens to come here to try and get him so batman figures get rid of superman and the aliens will stop........ but he's no match for superman

It feels very much like a Clooney kind of casting, but Batman movies have really taken a turn since then, so I don't think it could be nearly THAT bad. You don't have Arnie running around cracking shitty one-liners.

I was thinking the same thing. Unless Batman gets his hands on some kryptonite he has no chance of even hurting Superman.

i'm wondering if it will be batman that figures out the kryptonite thing.....and makes some sort of bat gizmo with it. for sure, the christain bale batman was more braun than brains and batman's power has always been his detective skills + good homemade gadgets.

the other thing, are all of the justice league team introduced by now? if not this may be where another jl member comes in, whoever it is swoops in and saves batman and superman from each other and perhaps an evil entity, all while destroying several billion dollars worth of a city. everyone wins!
