That would be your opinion. You assume I have strong republican ties because I am in business. And in fiscal matters I find myself currently on the side of the republicans. In social matters I find myself on the side of democrats.

But this administration has buried this country in a debt that my great grandchildren will still be dealing with, so how smart was that?

All the religeous nonsense that comes out of the mouths of the far right is nothing that matters to me. I don't care if homosexuals want to marry. I also believe, strongly that it's a womans right to decide what's best for her.

Don't minimize 17 trillion dollars of debt. This country is in serious trouble and will default if something doesn't change soon.

I bet Mark Prince wishes there was a way to go back and edit a thread title. :)

Nothing worse than calling someone out for being stoopid!

You are exactly the reason the Republican Party has become the abortion it has become, because even though you claim to not support the bat shit crazy far right you are still voting them into office. That in its self gives the bat shit crazy far right the green light to continue.
Ii guess you forgot how far Regan, Bush sr and Bush jr put us into debt? Funny how that always seems to happen with you guys on the right..

Line up to do body shots out of Bachman's navel.

Who's with me?

Just wondering how you know who he votes for. Are you with the NSA?

Is that your mantra? What bush did...it's OK now that we have an Obama in office?

The batshit crazy republicans are not in office. The batshit crazy democrats are. So your point is meaningless.

I've been here at GFY since shortly after it opened. Go back and find one thread where I was ready to give Bush a free pass on any of his crap.

As soon as I have an extra 3 grand or so lying around I will get an es335.

In general I love classic electric guitars, especially hollow and semi hollow. To my ears though the Epi's always leave something to be desired, with the exception of the old ones before they were an Asian import line for Gibson to have something cheap for students.

I do have some cheap Asian guitars that I love but in general I am rarely impressed by them.

You are right about ES335's.. CLICK

i like the bargains, the gibson wannabe's so to speak. love them in fact, and very much the asian gibson wannabe's too. i can't wait to get a made in korea casino. srsly.

i'm not sure if it's fair to judge an entire brand line of guitars but you could very well be right as i am new to them.

and i did have a riviera come through here that i struggled to embrace for 2 fracking weeks and just could not get it playing for me, had to send it back. it was a mi china but the fit and finish and such were pretty darn good, although i'm sure the electronics were lacking.

speaking of, the electronics on this serrento reissue are all top-notch.

I have a chinese Danelectro U2 that I love, but I will need to replace the tuners before I am really happy with it. I cant trust it enough to take it to a gig now but its fun to practice on and sounds and feels great.

I also have one of these which I know is Asian, they don't tell you where its made but swear its not China. It's too inexpensive for Japan so I guess that leaves Korea and Indonesia.

I also have a couple Chinese Fender acoustics that I hate. A classical and a resonator. They both work fine but I just don't like them, not even sure why. They don't speak to me except to say "you should have spent more money if you wanted a real guitar". I bought them thinking I fix them up somehow but instead they are just sitting there.

dyna mo 09-13-2013 02:52 PM

this thread needs some guitar tuneage, how bout gary clark jr playing catfish blues on a epiphone casino to president obama!!??

huh?? eh? right?? i know!

it's perfect

yep its got a "humbucker" which I think is 2 lipsticks wired together in the tail and a single in the neck position, you can get a lot of great sounds out of it, all the way from blues to metal. Probably not the best for metal, but I don't play metal so no problem there. Metal players who've gotten ahold of it loved it though.

BTW if you like silvertone keep an eye out I have a couple old silvertone guitars I re-did. As soon as I can get a pic that does them justice I'll post.

heck yeah. lolz. i've checked out *some* (a bunch) of silvertone gits but they made tons and tons over the years so i have no idea really and the prices on them range from $100 to a couple grand. i hve checked out a teisco or 2, i like the sounds from that, and they are supposed to be pretty darn well made

i've been meaning to snoop around about those vintage silvertone bass guitars too.

I had a nice dinner Richard, did you?

I was thinking about making a few investments before the end of the year, it's either that or send a lot of cash to the IRS. Would you want to stay on if I buy the program you work for?

Oh man; that would be some poetic justice there. Like when I bought that dumbshit Son of Sam's domains out from under him, only better. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Well you may be aware that Silvertone is just a brand that Sears slapped on instruments for its catalog, actual manufacturers were a variety including Danelectro, Harmony and Kay, all back in the day when they were made in the US.

Is that how poor, uneducated bottom feeders see it?
