In general I love classic electric guitars, especially hollow and semi hollow. To my ears though the Epi's always leave something to be desired, with the exception of the old ones before they were an Asian import line for Gibson to have something cheap for students.

I do have some cheap Asian guitars that I love but in general I am rarely impressed by them.

i'm not sure if it's fair to judge an entire brand line of guitars but you could very well be right as i am new to them.

and i did have a riviera come through here that i struggled to embrace for 2 fracking weeks and just could not get it playing for me, had to send it back. it was a mi china but the fit and finish and such were pretty darn good, although i'm sure the electronics were lacking.

speaking of, the electronics on this serrento reissue are all top-notch.

yep its got a "humbucker" which I think is 2 lipsticks wired together in the tail and a single in the neck position, you can get a lot of great sounds out of it, all the way from blues to metal. Well you may be aware that Silvertone is just a brand that Sears slapped on instruments for its catalog, actual manufacturers were a variety including Danelectro, Harmony and Kay, all back in the day when they were made in the US.
