I need some xanax. This show is ruining my mind.

Why was that Jesse's 92% meth called "Heisenberg's level" while Heisenberg's level was 99%? And as we remember from the episode where Gale tested Heisenberg's meth - few percentages may not seem a lot, but they actually are a LOT. So 92% is not even close to heisenberg's level. |

I see your point though, 92% must be better than anything else on the market. |
He told the chick it was 93 - then told Jesse it was 96...right?
Why? |

Also...did anybody else that watched both Dexter (don't spoil it in this thread) and BB notice they both ended on pretty much the same shot? |
odd that this week's episode didn't motivate it's own thread.

Anyone else feel like last nights episode was kind of slow and lame?
Perhaps I had too high of expectations for the last two episodes of the series. I just feel like they were dragging some things out in last night's episode in order to fill 40 minutes. Especially when comparing it to the last few episodes. I did hear that the last episode is supposed to be like 75 minutes with commercials. Not sure if there is more story, or they're just selling more commercials since it will be the highest price they'll ever be able to demand. I do like how Gilligan thanked Netflix last night. I was one of those people that kept hearing about the show and finally had a Netflix marathon to catch up. Not so sure I would have ever been as into it if I hadn't been able to see from the beginning. |

However, there will be a LOT to catch up on the last show, unless they leaving you hanging. You can't appease everyone, so I'm hoping it wont be one of those endings were you draw you own conclusion.... ugh, that would SUCK! From what I heard, it will be a lot of flashbacks. Walt now has three targets... the two from "gray matter" (can't believe they brought them back in!!!), Meth Damon and his crew and then Jesse. The last few episodes proved that Walt has given up and ready to turn himself in but calling the DEA, so he's almost going on the point that he doesn't care if he lives or dies because his son wants nothing to do with them. |

The tedium of the shows tempo was deliberately done to parallel Walt's feeling of frustration and "cabin fever". In fact, it was totally necessary in order to make his calling the DEA and having his last drink.
I thought it was brilliantly done. |

Not overly slow. Brilliant |

At least they explained the condition of the house.

Anybody watching Dean Norris's Funny or Die stuff?

MUCH better than last week although it's still stupid he didn't tell his son he had nothing to do with Hank's murder... no more than Skylar at any rate. And it was annoying you could see the writers let him hang on for enough of the character/plot exposition to happen before he chucked his tantrum. Besides that one tiny completely avoidable bit of dumbness the episode was more back to form.. absolutely loving bringing grey matter back into things.. I'd even be happy if that's the only thing resolved.. that he goes on a rampage against them and everything else is left hanging. But it would also be cool if he does something like dyna mo says, I've always thought the pill was for him to take.

Anyway...my brain is floating around the idea that Walt saw red with the Gray Matter interview and goes to find those two and somehow blackmails them into putting something for his family in their company finances. Therefore having what Walt leaves behind for his family when he dies being what he earned from legit work, having lost what he got from joining the dark side.

This single scene encapsulates so much of the dynamic of both characters, it's amazing, not even going into the directing and editing. |

At any rate I have had my post modded and personally spoiled things for Eric (rather pointlessly as it's still in your replies and your original post) so I guess I really am a mother fucker. The funny thing is I do actually taking spoiling seriously.. I go on internet blackouts before I watch a show.. I even frigging read the harry potter books in a single sitting each so they couldn't be spoiled.. I just slipped up here rather unthinkingly. |
It happens, I wasn't trying to attack you or anything.
The Harry Potter thing reminds me of the day the last book came out. I went into a shop and a group of older teenagers stood in the middle of the store and loudly read out the last page. It was fairly beautiful watching various adults come out of the woodwork to chastise them for being a special kind of asshole that tries to ruin something like that for kids. |

fast forward to about 2 minutes if you just want the Harry Potter. |

I can understand wanting to talk about it and accidentally saying too much, but to purposely ruin things for people is pretty fucked up. I know a guy who is like that when it comes to movies. If he has seen the movie he will tell you how it ends just as you start watching it. There is a movie called Shooter with Mark Wahlberg in it. I was at a friends house and none of us had seen it accept for that guy. He tells us it is pretty good so we all sit down to watch it (I think it was coming on HBO). About five minutes into it he tells us how it ends. We just shut the movie off. He asked us what was wrong and we told him there was no reason to watch it now because he was an asshole and told us how it ended. |
I think it was the best episode ever.

Have the writers been deliberately holding back for an all action finale or will things continue to unravel for Walt. Will Walt finally realise the monster he has become? I think in the final episode we'll see a recorded message from Walt, a bit like the one he made in the very first episode, that's my only prediction for the last episode :) |

Walt will most likely go out in a hale of gunfire like scarface, but we'll find out tomorrow night.

There is a terrific podcast 'breaking bad insiders' hosted by the show editor and featuring writers, directors and actors from the show. The last two episodes are much longer and either would have been shredded if they were forced to cut them down or the network had to approve going over. Thankfully the network wasn't dumb enough to force more cuts... That's why they are longer. Any re-runs will likely be cut down... So see it on first run or get it later via netflix...

don't forget at the start of this half-series, the intro scene was Walt as Heisenberg coming out of his house (or arriving, I forget which), the female neighbour sees him and drops her bag/box/whatever it was. That part has to be in this last episode - the last part of the episode, going on previous instances.

I think you are definitely right about that. |
holy shit walt gets killed by his wife!
