Thanks for sending me the updated import.php file - I am happy to say that TubeAce has successfully made the plugin work for the time and being. Thank you.

However, I must stress that I made it very clear what the issue was:

You use a separate import function for PornTube, which is a single source of videos. Your site lists dozens of sponsors that this plugin works for, but I was only able to use the PornTube one.

Thanks for fixing up the plugin for me, because I like the function of your plugin and I believe it's well worth its price when working.

For everyone else re: URL. Yes, I understand how it's an issue. No, I did not get permission, but I have no issue with the site being linked here. Your concerns are legitimate, but I don't mind my shitty tube being viewed. :thumbsup

I don't want to be a dick here, but I have to put in my two cents as a witness to what went down. Paully was using TubeAce for a site that had almost no customization needs -- this is exceedingly rare, and should be a showcase for its ease of use.

He asked me, as an outsider who didn't know him at the time, to take a look at some of the issues he was having. When I looked under the hood, I found software that not only wasn't even object oriented (!!) at the time, but had some rudimentary coding errors made by inexperienced coders. Not trying to knock your software (I've held my tongue a LOT in the past about it, even asking you nicely if you had considered going object-oriented at one point instead of just bashing you). However, it's really sloppy work and I'd be embarrassed to charge for it, frankly.

I was engaged on the project during the times he was unable to reach you, and he showed me your answers, which were generally either misunderstanding the problem, or not offering a working solution.

As to Paully wanting something for nothing (you keep talking about how you only took the $200 original fee and no more), I have to tell you I spent 17.33 billable hours on the project ($5,200). He paid instantly, and SENT ME A FRIGGIN' PS3 and some games in the mail on top of it for taking him on as a client (I wasn't accepting new clients at the time). Class act, doesn't ever want something for nothing. Works hard, and expects his vendors to do the same.

I have no skin in this game, but I hate to see someone get dragged through the mud needlessly ... especially when it's a dude who is the exact opposite of the picture you're trying to paint.

I Paid 80$ for the wp plugin and yes i got a lot of help in start, then when i had suggestions to how he could make the script better it did not happen. I asked for a simple thing as a rotator for the videos that never happened, so i had to fix one myself but it does not work like i want it to.

He did make a new template and that is good, but i have asked Chris plenty of times if he could create ad space on side / under the video player and i am still waiting and hoping for a huge update on that plugin.

I am seriously considering KVS it cost a little more but it looks better and i am sure it is running better. I have as of now 30k of video on my wp tube it has made it super slow in admin mode, when i want to import videos it takes forever to load the screen. I doubt it is the vps i am renting, 3 gb ram should be enough to open a page, but he tells me to get a better server.

If wp tube ace require a super fast server then he should have mentioned this on the front page, i even told him so and i never got a respond on that.

If you plan to run a tiny tube with less than 15k videos then i think you are ok using this, but if you have larger plans and want to have loads of videos then it guess not.

Also had the wp running on two other websites but removed them and moved them to hostedtube, great customer service and it runs itself.

eroticfem, I have told you AT LEAST 3 TIMES you can paste ad code directly into the theme template files. Also, I'm sure there is plenty of documentation on how to optimize WP for high traffic sites.

If the tube ace script is transferable i will take it of your hands for discount. I do know of other WP scripts but wont post it here.

Actually I am looking for something alternate of tubeace. I am ready to spend money for that but I need a ready product that I don't have any hassle to install and get after sales service. I don't have any objection about tubeace but as far I heard they are not friendly about after sales service.

I am aware of that BUT my question still is, why dont you create ad area's so we dont have to edit the code. Not all videos look great playing on the huge player, i had to use the smaller player so i would not lose to much quality on the videos.

Dont get me wrong i do like the script but it seem to be a little half finish.

What i am saying is that for $80 i had expected more, when the first version was released it was very basic and that was ok. But after he have updated it lots of times with other features i would have expected him to throw in ad widgets and a rotator while he was updating.

It's a WordPress script. It basically installs by clicking next-next-next, pick zip file, next-next-next.

It's good in two ways:
- More people can make sites and it has become mainstream
- Some rely on not recommended scripts, they build an interest on niches, get Google banned and you can reap the reward afterwards

eroticfem, You've received 6 additional free updates. There are many ad rotator plugins you can use with Tube Ace. Modularity is the purpose of using WordPress.

Updates where free at least that what it said when i bought the script.

I have tested out other rotators and they do not rotate the content, they are widgets for sidebars etc, 1 post at the time, loads of non working or supported plugins that no longer work with current version of wp.

Yes i have spent hours finding and trying out, as of now i have a rotator i added myself but i wish it could seperate the categories and not rotate them on every page i flip but only rotate the content permanent. If i want content to mix into each other i would have to upload 1 video from each sponsor(s), with 32k videos on tube it would take me more than 1 year.

I no longer have time to mess around with tubeace as it is now, full time job + overtime and best summer for years and i am stuck in doors.
