Had my third world outsourcing experience years back.

The prices were 1200 - 1600 USD a month (Phillipines) depending on the role, one of the staff - the designer was skilled and easy to work with, however after a month he was replaced by somebody else by the supervisor and claimed as "sick and not returning".

The rest of the people were either bad or really bad, one couldn't figure out if they do it on purpose (not respecting written instructions, unable to doublecheck their work etc.) or are just really this different in their work approach.

Also the "dedicated 8 hours a day" was questionable, especially with so much work consisting of fixing or re-doing stuff, the amount of holidays was stunning too. We had to claim extra hours and soon after terminate the contract.

Apart form that one exception it was bad or very bad, wouldn't go for another round.

Not discriminating, but the only way to consider this again would be to get a personal recommendation from somebody I trust. But then again that would have to be somebody with skills to offer and a decent knowledge of English, which doesn't put him into the $400 a month bracket.

I don't need outsourcing but it's pretty simple to make sure you get what you pay for.... just ask to use teamviewer (or remote desktop) or at least have the person on skype and require to send you a msg every time he (she) quit the computer! Plain and simple....

Doing a VA job is more lucrative to the VAs ($400.00/month) than doing normal jobs. But here is India, there huge numbers of skilled persons than available local jobs. So doing a VA job is better for them to do than doing a normal job.

$400.00/month is a lot of money in India as a salary. And you will get highly skilled & experienced staffs/VAs at that salary. So undoubtedly it is a fact that you will get top-notch VA at that price.

I might be interested once some known person from GFY is willing to step up and give references.

Question though. Is this "work" you guys do and experience you have include web design or just techy crap? I have hired a few times off of a Freelance site that were Indian guys and while they could build techy stuff they couldn't do design with crayolas and an etch-a-sketch if their life depended on it. But one of them sadly did know how to hack my WP thru my FTP login. :( Still not sure how the hell that works .

I have experience with Indian worker too. Every now and then they have these reason:

Power Interruption
Mouse Broken
Keyboard Broken
Internet Connection bad
Spill water in keyboard
Rat eat the wire of my computer

I hope these guys selling their skills here as a VA is not the same as them.

No we don't have any of the above problems and we indeed deliver 8 hours of genuine work every day per VA. We are professionals and if you choose an amateur VA from other places, you are bound to face problems. But we are not like that.
