its easy when you only have 6 models out at any given time and you build the os.
|
Lets just clear up the myths that the OP and others have come the believe to be the truth because they have drank a double dose of the purple cool-aid.
The reason there are these mysterious drivers out there is that Windows is versatile and robust - meaning that it is designed to be adaptable and work with a nearly infinite variety of hardware and combinations of that hardware and still operate - Now that is amazing! Think about that for a moment. It has allowed countless companies to INVENT different devices and the all WORK with the operating system! WOW - what a concept. So different from the Apple business model. Guess it just blow you Apple fan-boys minds. Sure...if one company makes both the hardware and operating system it damn well better work perfectly! No big surprise or anything unexpected there at all. "Think Different" is a total sound bite line of bullshit! There is nothing different about Apple at all. You better like "one size fits all" or you are not gonna find your size dude. Welcome to the cult. |
I live in ms country but never give the pc peeps shit. I use mac because im an artist and started using them because the blew doors on pc's in the day. I also used mac for my music. So did all the studios id record in. For me its about just being able to create. I believe im in good company. Pixar made some amazing movies with macs
|
Windows all the way but I must say my experience with mac's is limited.
Most things in the OP's list appear to largely be hardware inconveniences which can easily be resolved. |

You can get all that from Dell for $2k or you can build even a better system yourself. Not to mention with a PC you will never have a $500 logic board go bad that seems to be the first thing the Apple Store tries to sell you when your iMac goes kaput. Lets not also forget how much more it costs to get bigger HD's or more ram from the Apple store.. Even they know their customers are stupid trendy little fucks.. :1orglaugh |
I run Windows on my Macs and OSX on my PCs. :winkwink:
|
Apple used to be great. They might be innovative, but eventually the rest of the world catches up.
I have a win7 computer, never gives me any problems, starts up quickly, never any blue screens of death, if it does updates it does them in the background; I don't have issues with anitvirus and what not. I don't have a bunch of cords coming out of the back; I have my internet connection, speakers, monitor, and power cord, just like everyone else. My keyboard and mouse are wireless; I am sure I could get wireless speakers as well. My monitors look fine, kind of space aged. In the end we both have computers, but Apple fans are going to pay a lot more. |
hey mark prince...how can you be so progressive & fanboy a company that is so antiprogressive. lets see...
the founder never contributed to charity. it moved jobs from california to slaves in china. it played funny with steve's stock options values. it was wayyyy behind on hardware recycling initiatives. its wages at the retail level (plus the wealth gap between the top & bottom employees) are not progressive whatsoever. it markets its product to elitists & for elitists. nobody in an apple ad is ever fat. it sends the SWAT team to invade the home of a blogger who was outing a prototype. it is more invasive to your privacy than NSA. you must register your PII to make use of apples universe. You have no power to privatize your activities on their hardware. basically apple is everything that is wrong with corporatism. but you are hopelessly in love. |
Macs are for people who want an easy to use system and don't have the knowledge and time to spend on keeping it running top notch and are happy to pay more for that. I don't like macs but if you have money to burn they work perfectly well but if you have good knowledge of computers and want to be able to customise and upgrade your computer then PC is the way to go.

In my defense however, I was having a "bad hair" day. :thumbsup |

So what's funny is that MS tried to sell something for 10 years and failed. Apple tried for a few months and created the post-PC era of computing. And still no one cares about the MS tablet. |
I'm pleased with my Mac. At this point it just boils down to not having to re-learn how to use each new iteration of Windows. OS X has stayed fairly consistent.
I'll just lose my mind if they overhaul the OS anytime soon. Though something tells me that may be on the horizon given the perceived need to update the GUI in iOS 7. I have a Linux (OpenSUSE + KDE) desktop, a Windows 7 laptop, and a MacBook Pro Retina. I utilize all of them for their strengths but I use the MacBook most frequently. Go with what works! |

on top of that add to the fact that people were trained to listen every time when Jobbs was introducing and were trained to automatically assume it was "amazing". |

I'm 100% with you. I came from a pc too (1992 to 2011) and I will never use a PC again in my life. Mac works just fantastic. There is no noise at all, no problems, no wires, no drivers..You can use the computer for months without a reboot, the quality and design...every detail is amazing.. Apple worth every dollar.

Im learning how to build apps and I have to get a mac, I have no choice :(

Never had Apple till i decided to buy an iphone and ipad last week.
I must know how people experience our sites on the most used devices. The iphone works, i can make a prhone call with it and the ipad is a big iphone. Glad i bought it, gave me new ideas. |
leave it to apple.
if you bought the 4th gen ipod earlier this year (as late as may) you are SOL cause apple is not allowing IOS7 to be compatible with ipod 4. how unegalitarian. & if you bought the first gen Ipad only 3 years ago, forget about getting the latest software update. you are excluded from using current software. basically...after spending 600 dollars for hardware, apple will make your device useless for current apps within 3 years. add this to the list of a dozen things that apple does which is directly opposite **********s politics. |
The PC is freedom and freedom is messy but its how I choose to live.
We need more drivers because we want to be compatible with everything, even if we didn't manufacture it ourselves or think about it when we made the OS. I switched to a Macbook pro back when the first unibodies came out. I tried really hard to like it and spent a lot of time getting used to it. Eventually it became clear that it was a toy. Apple is great for people with nothing important to do and no hurry to get it done. I will admit though that the quality of the camera, speakers and microphone coupled with extended uptime made it easier to stay in touch with contacts, but clunky file browsing and the stupid single mouse button made most "real" tasks frustratingly difficult. I did get a lot of comments about how sexy it looked so I guess if you want your PC to look sexy then its great. If you want to get the fucking job done thats another story. When I installed windows 7 it finally became useful but the battery life went to hell. When I was done playing with my shiny toy I gave it to my wife for facebooking and instagraming with and went back to PC. This time I decided to spend a similar amount on a Windows PC and wow what a beast I got. I forgot to mention that the whole 2 years I was trying to be trendy using a mac I was losing money, when I switched back to PC I started making money again. Very little of it was the hardware itself most likely, but I still associate Apple with frustration and bullshit. |
oh & apple recently lost a lawsuit by the FTC because they were colluding with publishers to fix prices in the book download world.
tell us mark prince how this anti progressive entity is the one we should send our money too. |
nevermind..........

And maybe you have to give up some personal info when you register to use Apple products, but they use that info to provide you with better service, not shoot ads at you 24/7. If you're so worried about privacy, delete your Facebook account. Quote:

The iPod 4's cpu chip is slow and underpowered and has limited ram which is probably why it won't run ios7. But so what? Apple is still supporting it and if you really want ios7 features you can do what alot of others are doing and jailbreak it. I found this in 2 seconds for you. |

your crapple is made in china...by chinamen...the chips are made by intel...by chinamen also... look, bullshit OS aside, its like saying dell is better than lenovo :1orglaugh:1orglaugh sorry to offend your little apple logo you payed 2x the price for but apple is nothing more than a hyped out PC brand because if the apple shit was any good they would not fucking switch to PC processors would they now? they confuse you with fancy shit like "eye retina display" or "super cool fan with 1000.000.0000 patents" LOL dude my fan is super silent too and I got a better monitor than you do for less $$ :1orglaugh cant wait for apple to switch to windows :1orglaugh:1orglaugh but it will be "Special windows" that has "artificial intelligence alien tech support" and is 10.000.0000x better than normal windows and costs like 1000$ to make the hipsters think they are paying for "quality" :1orglaugh |

my greater point in my posts is how republican apple behaves, but you are the most flaming democrat on this board. koch bros would be proud how apple is run. but you are so focused on the hardware being pretty, you are blind that you support a company that represents everything wrong with corporate america. |
PS mark - yes apple is elitist...the pricing of its products keeps the poor out of its apple stores. or maybe you think obamacare provides a subsidy to the poor to buy applecare.
|
Here's an idea, if you are happy buying Apple products and like them, buy them and use them. If you don't like Apple products, don't buy them or use them.
There you go. End of discussion. Now, go and do some work. :) |
Apple Products do so much better then Microsoft its not even a competition haha
