Hardly. LOL I'm sure I'm only the eigth smartest person in this thread. :D

But I know cockamamie propaganda when I see it/watch it/hear it.

"You are entitled to your own opinions, not your own facts." said someone smarter than I. So ok, let's get rid of those annoying FACTS. LOL

I get my news from the BBC.

Start with this - Hib vaccine is causing Diabetes Type 1

Why is there a 6-fold gradient increase over the border of Russia/Finland for Diabetes Type 1? Russia has an incredibly low rate of Diabetes Type 1.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15902849

Well, we do know that vaccines cause autoimmune diseases, so could it be a vaccine?

http://www.plosone.org/article/info:...l.pone.0008382

?Systemic autoimmunity appears to be the inevitable consequence of over-stimulating the host?s immune ?system? by repeated immunization with antigen, to the levels that surpass system?s self-organized criticality.?

Look at these maps here on BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24519949
Check out Hib vaccine rates for Finland and Russia, you'll see that Finland vaccinates 99% of their population against Hib, whereas Russia only vaccinates 18%

Could the Hib vaccine be the culprit?

Bingo, it's already been pointed out that wherever the Hib vaccine is introduced cases of Diabetes Type 1 skyrocket

Association between type 1 diabetes and Hib vaccine (Causal relation is likely)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1116914/

The study goes on to say that there is more harm than good being done by the Hib vaccine

?The rise in diabetes, just one potential adverse effect, exceeds the benefit of the vaccine, which has been estimated to prevent seven deaths and 7-26 cases of severe disability per 100 000 children immunised?

?Furthermore, sharp rises in diabetes have been recorded in the United States and the United Kingdom after the introduction of the haemophilus vaccine.?

The problem is Diabetes Type 1 makes Big Money for Big Pharma, this is of course the most likely reason why the jab is there is the first place, it was never about protecting, just about increasing profits. :2 cents:

there may be a relation to people getting the flu vaccine and an increase in diabetes. It is also possible that the world is getting fatter and eating more shitty, sugar filled foods.

Again, I have never said every vaccination is perfect, or possibly needed. I haven't had a flu vaccination in 20 years and have only had the flu a few times during that time.

I am more worried about polio, measles etc.

The world getting fatter causes more Diabetes Type 2, whereas the Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B) is causing the more serious Diabetes Type 1

You are wise to avoid the Flu vaccine

The Polio vaccine spreads Polio, but a type that is twice as deadly. The Polio vaccine wasn't working so they simply renamed Polio so as it didn't show up in statistics making it look a success. Let's not forget that the Polio vaccine was contaminated with the SV40 virus which is the reason we now have thousands of cases of Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of Cancer which previously didn't exist. (admitted in an interview with former Merck Vaccine Chief Dr Maurice Hilleman). Measles is no risk if you have enough Vitamin A in your diet. I've had Measles myself it was no big deal. The vaccine is far more risky.

Researchers reported:

"…while India has been polio-free for a year, there has been a huge increase in non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP). In 2011, there were an extra 47,500 new cases of NPAFP. Clinically indistinguishable from polio paralysis but twice as deadly, the incidence of NPAFP was directly proportional to doses of oral polio received. Though this data was collected within the polio surveillance system, it was not investigated. The principle of primum-non-nocere [First, do no harm] was violated."

it's terrible! but yea, hard time feeling happy for em

I met very few smoking hotties. Most were music and film nerds. Some were hot but most not.

What killed journalism were the major corporations who stepped in and began to filter reality versus their agenda. Letterman used to joke about GE but it was more of a problem than even ol Dave would let on.
Corporate concept of do not offend anyone eventually filtered into TV and movies. Especially movies.

These days the control is more open. Hard news is gone and news about ponys and rabbits and the Kardashian skank celebrity TMZ scenes are taken for real news.

When I was in my early 20's I wrote for a music magazine. It was a lot of fun and a crazy, cool job. At that time in the two cities I was splitting time between (Portland and Seattle) there were probably 30 major radio stations and like another 30 smaller stations. Most of them were independently owned. It was a huge controversy when one company wanted to own two stations in the same market.

Now almost all of these stations are own by the same 2 or 3 companies. The same can be said for newspapers and magazines. With that comes a corporate mentality and many of them want you to slant the work you do in a particular way. This hurts journalism badly. Another problem is that TV news is now a for profit enterprise. It wasn't too long ago that TV stations produced news understanding that they were going to lose money or maybe break even. They did it as a public service and didn't care about ratings. As the ratings game increased the news stations started competing for viewers. They worried less about breaking interesting stories and more about putting stuff on the air that will draw viewers. Hell, if you look at the major 24 hour news networks half of their programming is not pundits. They have stopped doing the news and now produce a show. They are really not much different than a sitcom or a TV drama.

It is sad. What saddens me more is that most people don't care.

You are correct...the "news" shows...are just that entertainment "shows"...with a small bit of news thrown in. In addition there are not any...not a single news media...that is unbiased...and in fact most are heavily biased too the point of being ridiculous. It pisses me off...but one cannot defeat the color "green".

I lived through that on the east coast in Boston and New York. I'm not a Commie I'm what you might call a socially responsible capitalist. US is a predatory capitalist country based on doctrines created by people thrown out of England and Europe.

What I see as going on for the last 30 years is a government bent on dumbing down the population enough so the citizens, except for a select elite, can get mcjobs but cannot analyze the shit going on around them.

When I watch the 2012 anime "Attack on Titans" I often see average Americans as the titans.
Watch it and chuckle. Same people did Ghost in the Shell. Where the Wachoswski Brothers ripped the Matrix from.

Kane, me and Daniel Elsberg feel your pain.

Don't blame us, most yanks seem to think they magically arrived on that continent, denounced the British, and became their own people.

On a side note to that, a "socially responsible capitalist" is what I strive for myself.

The government isn't even pretending that they want to dumb people down anymore. In the last election one of Rick Santorum's talking points was that an education was over rated. He called people will college educations stuck up and said it wasn't something people need (of course he and his wife both have law degrees and I'm sure their kids will be going to college). They just want you to stay dumb and vote for the same lies that they keep repackaging and selling over and over even if doing so is actually against your own best interest.
