no, you're not. you are making that argument for the niners exclusively.

here. see?

unless you're trying to tell me seattle is not a good team. if you think that you will be in for a surprise over the next 6 weeks.

of course i've watched seattle's last 2 games, do i sound like i'm talking out of my ass here? the last 2 games were tough, this is the nfl. again, my point- on any given sunday.

the other part of your argument that falls flat here is the niners still have to play those very 2 teams you just mentioned that played against seattle very well.

CDSmith 11-08-2013 10:49 AM

As a 30+ year niner fan I'm compelled to say that they are going to rain hell on their remaining unfortunate opponents. With all or nearly all of their marquee weapons back in the lineup they should be virtually unstoppable.

But that's assuming of course they play at up to or close to their level best, something that in past seasons they've struggled at times to do.

But the realist in me knows that those remaining teams are all pretty hungry as well, and any one of them can show up on game day and have the game of their lives and surprise everyone.

Must stay positive though. My team needs me. :D

Seattle has been surprisingly bad of late, merely eaking out their wins. Wins nonetheless, and certainly no reason to assume they will continue to play that way. Anyone who underestimates this team this year is simply foolish. They are dangerous.

Denver, same thing. Dangerous. Riding a very huge wave of winning. Not unstoppable but about as near to it as it gets.

Pats. Colts. Saints. Plenty of contenders this year. The question is who has the drive and the mettle to crush their way to the end? I feel more confident than ever that this is the year of the NINERS.

i like you cd. i'd buy you a $15 beer at a niners game even.

also, the hardest part of the season is coming, as you know.

heck my old man used to not even tune into nfl until after thanksgiving, he said it was all needless up till then. he did have a point but he missed some fun nfl.

Yep I am feeling the same way as you , and although I may be a little disconnected from reality I still feel the 49ers were the rightful superbowl champs based on multiple blown referee calls but yes we are still bitter and will assuredly grab that elusive # 6 trophy because the weapons are indeed in place, and will only serve to strengthen and enhance the high caliber level of play being exhibited by the 49ers currently!

They will feed on one anothers play making abilities and will wreak utter havoc on opposing defenses.

Again we are talkin about a virtually unstoppable all pro caliber offense from the line men to the backs to the receivers.

I mean maybe many are sipping koolaid and just do not follow niner football but this assortment of offensive talent as well as defensive talent is going to be troublesome for the nfl.

No more talking about it, you will witness what we are saying in the coming days.

Sure here are a handful of good and hungry teams like seattle, colts, denver, saint's,chiefs....can't take nothing from any of them.

What I am saying is none of them have the overwhelming assortment of talent on both sides of the ball as the niners!

Tank Caradine and aldon smith back to the defense that is already playing impressively!

Don't even make mention of what explosiveness we are expecting from the offense. You can only double 1 or 2 players at the most....which means you are going to have seriopus serious serious mismatch issues with the rest of the team.

Ok go ahead double anquan boldin, and let manningham beat you down 1 seam, and vernon davis down the other...LOL

I mean okay go ahead and play soft try and play zone, and frank gore, kendall hunter, and colin kaepernick are going to run roughshod all over the place.

Go ahead double crab tree then you free up boldin, davis, or manningham....I mean we are talking some serious football whack a mole here.

Defense has been playing wihout a real constant sack threat without aldon smith, and tank caradine.

Defense will now have constant pass attack pressure with the return of eric right to corner back, the defense can play more agressive and it is a scary prospect.

You are about to witness a very skilled and experienced defesne work in compliment with a very skilled and dangerous offense and they are coming into full stride at the perfect time during the season!

Go 49ers!

2 days away from some freaky perverted plays being ran on fox nfl this sunday against the panthers!

Is that how much a beer costs at a game these days? :eek2:eek7

Absolutely this is the toughest part of the season. From week 10-on it's where the proverbial rubber meets the proverbial road. Literally. :D

Michael Crabtree: Going in Right Direction -- Michael Crabtree was all alone on the field at the start of Wednesday's 49ers practice. "I was the first person out there today, stretching for no reason," the fifth-year wideout said shortly after the two-hour workout. "I'm just excited to be back."
I'm looking forward to seeing him back in action.

Swirl -- You're not wrong, everything you've said is basically true. But I still underline one word of caution that there are a couple of teams that come close enough to having the Niners' firepower and balance that they are serious contenders as well. And serious threats.

Personally I would love to see SF absolutely crush every team they go up against all the way to the superbowl. And I mean CRUSH. Like the Patriots did about eight or ten years ago. To the point where people were crying that Brady & Co were "running up the score" on their poor poor loser teams. Yeah, that kind of crush is what the Niners need to be doling out on the league right now.

But in lieu of that I'll settle for them winning their 6th Superbowl. :D

Wow, I would not have thought beer costs more at a Lions game than at a Cowboys game.

Detroit must think their team is something special. :D

dyna mo 11-08-2013 12:55 PM

i'm thinkin i might pick the panthers, straight up for sunday................

not. hahahah, harbaugh's had 2 weeks to craft up a game plan. and these 4 in a row panther wins were over weaker franchises. but cam newton can start making td's, run, throw, he don't care when he gets going. gonna have to ring his bell early and a few times imo.

oh and how the heck did the niners get anquan boldin over this off-season anyway? was that some behind the scenes brother to brother trade over a burrito? i mean really!

Absolutely spot on!

Here is my interesting discovery of today....and this is why it is great to be excited because stats do not lie....

http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/st...mpletion/2013/

CLick the link and see that the 49ers are currently leading the NFL in yards per completion even without their full playbook or full offensive capability.

ALREADY LEADING THE NFL IN A VITAL OFFENSIVE STAT AND THAT IS WITHOUT NOT 1 BUT 2 STARTING ALL PRO RECEIVERS ABOUT TO RETURN.

Again the defense is playing lights out and about to get back 2 more pass rushers and one sack master known as aldon smith.

Who could possibly have it any better than us? Can you imagine a seasoned experienced Kaepernick with all of his weapons fully recharged and fully loaded!

Check down field..... if nothing down field take off running for your easy first down.

Light up the opposing teams defense with passes all over the place in first quarter....tire out the opposing team defense, then run all over them with Gore,Hunter, James, and Kaep

Its just a very freaky and perverted form of niner football that we see as being prepared to be unleashed on the NFL.

It really looks insane....it really looks delicious....it really looks serious....it really looks like the 49ers will be arguably 1 of 3 teams to beat in the NFL in the coming weeks

Well, they definitely showed that Carolina's late-game defense is freaky-freaky-nasty, as well as gave the Panthers a 5-win steak. So, that's ... something, I guess?

You must have cried at that interception.

You obviously don't know much about what's going on this season :)

1 freaking point win after we suffered 5 injuries is no reason to crown the carolina house cats anything yet

dyna mo 11-11-2013 07:28 AM

sorry for your loss 49er fans.

going by donny's *logic*, the niners are not an elite team on the way to a super bowl spot.

dyna mo 11-11-2013 07:31 AM

at home loss.

late in the season, when donny (and analysts, lolz) claim elite teams are getting better.

after a bye week when the team had 2 weeks to prepare and rest.

to the lowly panthers.

ouch!

stephane76 11-11-2013 07:56 AM

A win is a win is a win... 1 point or 30...

I didn't write the article ;)

It was definitely a bad day. We had less than 50 yards total passing. Etc. Usually, a day when a defense can hold a team to 10 points, that day is considered good. Obviously not the case this time.

I told my son on the way to the game that the only thing I was worried about was that we were coming off a bye week. Some teams show up refreshed and others show up cooled off. The Niners were on a hot streak - as are the Panthers with their 5 wins in a row - that came to a halt. I was hoping for a good use of the bye week. Instead, we cooled off. Here's to Harbaugh firing everyone back up!

Magnetron 11-11-2013 08:25 AM

I was expecting tight ends and holes being exploited.

Freeky nasty bullshit topic.

Go Bears

vdbucks 11-11-2013 08:35 AM

The 49ers only lost because Cry Baby Jim didn't scream loud enough about how it was a double face mask and offsetting penalty imho...

CDSmith 11-11-2013 12:14 PM

See this is why I hesitate to drink the coolaid and go all "Niners rule the universe!", and instead still tend to throw out a note of caution even during their longest of winning streaks. As much as I love San Fran and as great as they're looking lately I know they're not quite 'there' yet consistency-wise.

When they're on their game they are almost unstoppable. But when they're not, they can very much suck as bad as any 3-7 team out there. I think that will change as Keapernick gains experience. It's easy to forget the guy is barely out of his rookie season, and he was only at the helm for part of last year, not the full season.

And I'm not putting it all on Keapernick either. Niner D played pretty great yesterday, but so did the Panthers'. And their offense managed to get a TD, something SF failed utterly to do.

The San Francisco 49ers of 2013 are on a 5 game win streak scoring an average of over 35 points a game, without 3 starting players!

They are currently on a bye week resting for carolina, and expecting to have 3 all pro players return to the field within the next couple of weeks!

Definition of Offensive Onslaught -

1.Michael Crabtree
2. Mario Manningham
3.Frank Gore
4.Kendall Hunter
5.Colin Kapernick
6.Anquan Boldin
7.Vernon Davis
8.LaMichael James
