When my mom was 19-years-old she worked part time for a friend that ran a catering company. She worked a lot of weddings. At one wedding she happened to be standing outside the groom's dressing room and heard him talking to his groomsmen. She thought he sounded like a real asshole, but she really liked his mom who was taking care of all the catering.
Fast forward 8 years. My mom had been married and divorced. A friend of hers introduces her to a guy who was also recently divorced and they start dating. After dating him for a few months she meets his parents. My mom recognizes his mom from that wedding. Sure enough, she was now dating the former asshole groom! They eventually got married and I was born a few years later. So, my mom met my dad while working his first wedding and didn't like him. Years later when they are both single they meet and end up getting married and neither remembered the other from the wedding. |

Yeah it seems the more we think back about things like this the more stuff comes up. Not sure if this is the same but when I was only 6 months old my mother went out to Memphis to go visit with my aunt who was working there briefly as a nurse at the time. We go there and on the way back my mom decides to drive by and take some pictures with me by Graceland at the entrance. As we are leaving ambulances and police start showing up, my mom had to leave back for home, as it is a seriously long ride back to Toronto from there, so couldn't stick around to see what was going on. She found out on the radio on the way home that we just happened to be visiting there the day they found Elvis dead in his bathroom.
It's the only time either my mom or myself have ever been to Memphis, it's pretty far from where we live too so always thought that was pretty incredible myself. Oh and I love both Elvis and Tennessee, just that I'm normally on the other side of the state in the smokey mountains ;) |
When I was living in UK 2002 I met a stripper at the Rhino who was from Canada, we spent the holidays together, fast forward 2 years later and I run into her in Nanaimo, BC at a strip club and we again spent a few days together.

The one that gets to me the most, I was wondering around Amsterdam in the middle of the night, a few years ago, thinking of my mother, who was in Holland during the pre war years. Wondered if she ever passed on these streets when she was a child.
In the morning when I got up to have breakfeast, stopped at a random restaurant, been sitting for a bit, waiting for the order. When a song came on, the same one I played for her, on her deathbed. |
You can Limit your search by distance also.. So if you wanted to drive to the person...

People in the Philippines love karaoke. The country is full of karaoke bars, and singing is a large part of their culture. For the most part, karaoke is a playful activity, but some people have taken it very seriously. At least half a dozen people in the Philippines have been murdered while performing Frank Sinatra?s 1969 song ?My Way.? The deaths have been called a coincidence by some because the song is a popular karaoke tune, but many Filipino karaoke bars have banned the song.
In some places, the term ?videoke rage? has been used to describe deaths. In one case, 29-year-old Romy Baligula was shot to death by a security guard after he wouldn?t stop singing the song. The song has been known to spawn riots and many people refuse to sing it because of the trouble it might cause. http://www.bbc.com/travel/blog/20110...he-philippines |
One of the oddest coincidences ever recorded spans a period of nearly 200 years and involved three ships that sank in the Menai Strait of the coast of Wales. The first vessel went down on December 5, 1664, and of its 81 passengers, only one survived, and he was called Hugh Williams. On December 5, 1785, 121 years later, another ship sank in the Menai Strait, and again, all of the passenger perished except one ? named Hugh Williams.
Two ships sinking in the same area on the same day of the month certainly is not earth-shattering, but when each of them have only one survivor of the same name, it gets a little eerie. But the story does not end at that. On December 5, 1860, yet another ship, a small 25 passenger vessel, sank in the Menai Strait. And once again there was only one survivor ? and once again his name was Hugh Williams. :helpme:helpme:helpme |
