In other words, if it were called anything BUT "religion", it would be labeled consumer fraud and shut down & people would go to prison.
So I don't think anybody needs to ponder WHICH "belief systems" are banned. They should ALL be relegated to "fiction" in the book stores and libraries.

it's a sticky wicket though right? who or what gets to decide? the church tried to ban science 500 years ago. i agree a lot of people have died and shit destroyed in the name of religion, it would *seem* to very much make sense....but i'd bet some scholars could school us both on all the good religion has done over time as well, it certainly can't all be bad. |
