Higher rates are not due to insurance companies being "out of control". Anyone that knows the slightest thing about insurance knows full well that insurance rates are almost entirely dictated by costs to insurance companies, namely in the form of endless lawsuits by idiotic assholes who see a chance to game the system for a quick buck at the expense of everyone else.

Hey look, posted a link from Fox news, so even you can believe it..

http://www.foxnews.com/story/2007/05...s-for-answers/

Woman goes to the hospital to give birth and three days later they have amputated both her arms and legs, claiming she had flesh eating bacteria. Yet they won't give her or her lawyers her own medical records they tell her she will have to sue to get any information..

Yep just another sue happy asshole looking for a quick buck.. Thanks Obamacare!

Only thing I have against liberals is they are blind to anything negative about Obama.

So please tell me where you think 5 million people losing there health insurance is a good thing when the president said this wouldn't happen?

You are a troll that doesn't have any facts to back up your stance and get frustrated when I bring up time and time again how fucking stupid you are using facts, all you have is innuendo and a complete disregard for the facts.

But he did.. He used to tell us all the time how great Ronald Reagan was and how he ended the Cold War and shat gold bars for the economy. Of course we can't forget that his daughter also served on the very ship that was blessed with the name of this great American hero.

He also surely didn't butch and moan about Bill Clinton while Bush was still in office, ironically never having a bad word to say about Jr or Sr.. Then as if the devil himself rose up from the pits of hell, his Obama rants and rages started before the man even had a chance to warm up the seat in the Oval Office.

Let's also not forget his support for Fred Thompson for president.. Yep he don't support them Republicans at all and the hate for Obama has no political agenda at all...much the same as when he bitched about Clinton...

I could really care less if he hates Obama or not.. It's just the fact he continues the denial that he's not some right wing lap dog and tries to pretend he's not biased. Why the denial?

I'm convinced that no one knew exactly what was in the bill when they passed it, only that they thought it would be a legacy they wanted to be part of. Now we are stuck with a law that when all the delays that have been put on it by the president kick in, it's just going to get worse. There are a lot of unemployed people out there and that should be the presidents focus, not trying to figure out the best way to pay off his contributors like he did with Solyndra

I'm not so sure he knowingly lied about it. I think it was a case, like you say, of nobody really knowing what they are voting for. Hardly anyone read the text of the law before voting for it. I would imagine Obama's people told him what it will do and he then made his speeches. Is it his fault he passed on bad information? Absolutely. However, this law is so bloated and confusing I bet 10 people could read it and they would give you 10 different interpretations of it.

I don't hold out hope that it will be good. I think it will help some and hurt others and many won't be affected by it. I also think it is our first step towards something that looks more like a single payer system.

Attacking me for thinking this about Democrats versus Republicans, well go ahead

Obama has polarized the two parties to what it is going on now, sorry you fail to see that, the republicans were ignored by Barry when they pushed this thru. They had things they wanted to add to the bill before they voted for it and Barry ignored them, thus splitting the parties to the extremes they are now. Forgetting the the office of the president represents all the people of the United States. I hate him as a president because of that very thing. Democrats and Republicans will do what they do, hopefully having a balance. When that balance is there, the government works better, I have nothing against the democrats or the GOP, what I have a problem with is a President that is not doing his job and representing all the FOLKS. Look back at past speeches and listen how he puts down the GOP every chance he gets, those are representatives of the people, he has become the leader of the democratic party, not the president of the United States.

Any president that refuses to listen to the other side of things is ignoring the will of the people, anyone that thinks that's ok is wrong

Reagan worked with Tip O'Neil to fix a lot of stuff

Clinton worked with Republicans to balance a budget and several other things

Barry barely talks to the other side

Obviously something is wrong, Einstein. What is wrong is that we live in the most litigious country on the planet. Maybe we should start there and deal with that reality first, which is the the single largest cause behind insurance rates.... Or are you just so devoid of reason that you think all insurance companies, competing in a free market in every industry just arbitrarily raise rates for no reason whatsoever, rather than trying to compete like every business on the planet does.

Hospitals charging $2000 for an aspirin and $500 for a bowl of oatmeal and yet you're defending them by spouting BS about lawsuits.

Right... because "healthcare costs" are the same thing as "your personal insurance rates".

Actually, the gop IS in power. They control the house and they controlled just about everything else thanks to those evil fillibusters which are now thankfully, a little less evil). Anyone who things John Boner has no power isn't paying attention.

Interestingly enough that article has people claiming that fewer and fewer people are going to school to be doctors, yet this study done by the Association of American Medical Colleges shows, "Combined first-year M.D. and D.O. enrollment in 2015-16 is projected to be 26,403, 35 percent above 2002-03."

So in reality the number of people enrolling in school to be doctors appears to be on the rise.

According to their study they felt we would need an increase in new doctors of about 30% by the year 2015. At the current rate of growth they will hit that number around 2017.

Being a doctor is not a money grab. While there are some people that choose the field because of the potential earnings, many of them choose the field because they want to help people. They like the money, and they deserve the money, but you don't dedicate over a decade of your life to school, potentially a huge amount of debt, and an enormous amount of stress just because you want to earn some good money. If money were the main motivator a person could go to significantly less school and likely get into a career where they could make a similar amount of money. According to this the average family practitioner makes about $175K per year. The guy that lives across the street from me is a foreman for a industrial electrician contractor and he made about $135K last year with two years of schooling under his belt.

Sorry, but I just to buy it when I hear people say that Obamacare is going to drive people away from the medical field. At this point it is all speculation.

I don't think I've seen anything so willfully misinformed for ages. Obama is basically a moderate corporate republican. It's just that he's a moderate corporate republican from 25 years ago. You can't move a party to the loony right with an insurgent radical wing over a couple of years and then complain that Obama doesn't agree with Ted Cruz that Agenda 21 will force everyone to live in hobbit homes.

Obama has capitulated time and time again and given into the republicans with the very faintest of protest see: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/boehner-...what-i-wanted/ it's just that the establishment republicans like Boehner are being wedged from the far right by the tea party fanatics/grandstanders/charlatans/tantrum havers and have to worry about being primaried. So they've ruined many things that would have happened under the normal course of business.
Fuck. Obama had a chief of staff that called progressives "fucking idiots". He's governing centre-right and is basically a corporate shill like any president essentially has to be these days with the current campaign finance situation.

This last debt ceiling fight is essentially the first time Obama hasn't immediately capitulated and it's mainly because he had most of the moneyed interests and corporations on his side and the Republicans had no real plan or strategy to achieve anything. Next time they'll probably find some middle ground if the loonies on the right don't screw things up again like they did in '11 when Boehner and Obama wanted to make a deal.

There might already be a more moderate budget deal in the works. Paul Ryan and Patty Murray have hammered out a budget that restores some spending that was hit by the sequester and cuts in other places. Reports are that it is a fair and reasonable budget where both sides get some and give some. So of course the far right hates it and so far the liberals haven't said a whole lot, but Obama said he likes it.

I criticize Obama and those that support his agenda, period. I could give a rats ass about the GOP, they're not in power. Fucking retarded noobie. Go find another board, Go Fuck Yourself

This will be the 3rd and final time that I point out how predictable you are.

Whenever there is a topic in which Republicans are being criticized, you are incapable of not inserting your hatred for Obama into it.

Go seek professional help.

He hasn't tried to work with the other side only in the eyes of conservatives. Shutting down the government because you don't get everything you want is not being agreeable. In what world have Republicans wanted to work with Obama? They stated from the outset that they'd be blocking everything he tried to do, and they've followed through on that. They've played 100% politics for the last 5 years, totally disregarding the will of the American people. It's been a nonstop circus of obstructionist antics.

Obama has basically given them an olive branch with immigration reform as a cause they could take up to improve their standing with the public --- and they've squandered that chance, with only one work day left ion Congress. Do you even know about that situation? Probably not. Can they actually do anything besides try to lower taxes and be against anything that looks like progress?

They lost the goddamn election and think they're still in charge, and think the country on their side on all of their backward ass ideals and values that basically involves keeping things as they are, or moving backwards socially and fiscally. You're obviously in the same bubble they are. I watch Fox News, so I know about all of the misinformation you guys get fed on a daily basis. Don't even try to say you're neutral. It's very obvious you're not, so just own it.

Obama pulled up immigration reform to try and shed the bad press for Begazi, the IRS targeting conservatives, The NSA getting caught spying on every ones email and the lies he said about Obamacare to get it passed.

He needs to fix his fuck ups first before creating new ones

As far as Obama listening to the GOP, I call Bull Shit

Back in 2009 and 2010, Democrats controlled the White House and the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed Obamacare through without a single Republican vote.
The Washington Post said of the Obamacare fight at the time ?It has inflamed the partisanship that Obama pledged to tame when he campaigned for the White House and has limited Congress?s ability to pass any other major legislation.?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...032100943.html
In December 2009, the U.S. Senate voted 60 to 39 for Obamacare. The Washington Post reported ?The Senate bill passed without a single GOP vote.?
In March 2010, the U.S. House voted 219 to 212 for Obamacare. 34 House Democrats and all of the House Republicans voted against Obamacare. The NO votes were the only bipartisan votes.
President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) on March 23, 2010.

Democrats ignored the plans offered by Republicans at the time ? including the House GOP plan drafted by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) and The Patients? Choice Act of 2009 introduced by U.S. Senators Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) and Richard Burr (R-NC) and U.S. Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Devin Nunes (R-CA).

So yes, Obama ignored the Republicans, passed the bill into law with lies of you can keep your doctor and you can keep your current insurance with ZERO input from the Republicans

Giving them an Olive Branch, are you fucking kidding me? Every speech he gives, with the exception of when "HE" killed Osama Bin Laden, he uses to campaign against the republicans

dyna mo 12-12-2013 11:57 AM

this sort of thing by the president certainly does not help:::::::

Obama: GOP should be 'embarrassed' by low productivity on Hill

“They’ve got to be embarrassed,” the president said on a special edition of “Hardball” that aired Thursday evening. “Because the truth of the matter is they’ve now been in charge of the House of Representatives – one branch or one chamber in one branch of government – for a couple of years now. They just don’t have a lot to show for it.”

http://nbcpolitics.nbcnews.com/_news...tivity-on-hill

it doesn't matter he's right or wrong about that either, finger pointing never helps anything.

ctggls 12-12-2013 12:06 PM

21 hours speech... ? Who can endure such a thing?

Not true. Immigration reform was one of the things Obama promised to do during his election campaign which was before Bengazi. And also, in the end the Bengazi thing was nothing to report except an unfortunate incident. There was nothing to hide, and it was declared a terrorist attack despite the fact that the GOP said it was not, which I hope you remember that idiot Mitt Romney was famously humiliated for on national live TV.

Not true. After the investigation it was shown that more democratic organizations were denied the tax exemption status. And besides even if they were targeting conservatives, don't you think they deserve to be at least looked at a little more closely?

This is a George W Bush era entity, and it has been known and reported on since 2008. Dubya stripped Americans of rights immediately after the 9/11 attacks, or did you forget?

Obama didn't lie about Obamacare. First, it's a republican idea. Next, it was slow or unresponsive thanks to traffic and software bugs, which Obama has promised to fix, and which he has. Come on dude...

Like... what? Guantoamo might be an issue sure, but the GOP hasn't exactly got out of his way to close it either.

He didn't ram it through. He passed it and then the GOP tried to block it by first calling it unconstitutional which of course was proven wrong. Then they tried to repeal it 47 times instead of doing any real work or passing any real laws.

Wow... just..wow.. when does he do that? Think about it a sec... every time someone like Boehner, or Rubio, or any of the tea party nuts, say anything about a blade of grass, they always turn it into a job against the president and or obamacare. Try listening to any of these people one day you'll see its true.

I'm waiting for it!

Nothing is ever good enough for you, you will find some reason why it's not good enough. I could say blue you would say red. I could then say red and you would say yellow. It's just like there is nothing Obama could ever do, because no matter what he does you will find something wrong with it. You are a hater..

The fact is, your precious Ronald Reagan would never be elected by the GOP today, because you and just about the entire right wing has gone so far from center, you are about to fall off the edge. Obama is the closest thing to Reagan we have had, but because he's wearing the Democrat name tag, you think he is the anti Christ.

So when the president says you can keep your insurance and 5 million people lose their insurance, you're ok with that? I could give a rats ass about the website, that they can fix, it's nothing more than an embarrassment, his lies about keeping your insurance and thus not being able to keep your doctor is something esle
