Insurance companies are highly regulated on both the state and federal level and aren't even legally capable of making any decisions/changes/policy changes without following extensive rules and regulations and without getting state approval for acceptance.

I understand all the idiotic simpletons need a boogeyman to point the finger at and say "the bad guy is over there, go get him" - but the real world is just not that simple,... hence these moronic discussions, blaming 1/2 the uniited states voters for being 'dumb', 'brainwashed', 'extremists' etc.

Higher rates are not due to insurance companies being "out of control". Anyone that knows the slightest thing about insurance knows full well that insurance rates are almost entirely dictated by costs to insurance companies, namely in the form of endless lawsuits by idiotic assholes who see a chance to game the system for a quick buck at the expense of everyone else.

I'm not so sure he knowingly lied about it. I think it was a case, like you say, of nobody really knowing what they are voting for. Hardly anyone read the text of the law before voting for it. I would imagine Obama's people told him what it will do and he then made his speeches. Is it his fault he passed on bad information? Absolutely. However, this law is so bloated and confusing I bet 10 people could read it and they would give you 10 different interpretations of it.

I don't hold out hope that it will be good. I think it will help some and hurt others and many won't be affected by it. I also think it is our first step towards something that looks more like a single payer system.

Obama has polarized the two parties to what it is going on now, sorry you fail to see that, the republicans were ignored by Barry when they pushed this thru. They had things they wanted to add to the bill before they voted for it and Barry ignored them, thus splitting the parties to the extremes they are now. Forgetting the the office of the president represents all the people of the United States. I hate him as a president because of that very thing. Democrats and Republicans will do what they do, hopefully having a balance. When that balance is there, the government works better, I have nothing against the democrats or the GOP, what I have a problem with is a President that is not doing his job and representing all the FOLKS. Look back at past speeches and listen how he puts down the GOP every chance he gets, those are representatives of the people, he has become the leader of the democratic party, not the president of the United States.
