It's the standard for all TV series... It has to do with contracts ending for the actors (them wanting more money after to renew) and other things.. It's usually not profitable anymore after 7 seasons..

they sign contracts for X amount of years that can't be renegotiated until they're up... and they're usually up after 7 years..

This season was set to deliver like none before it according to the pre-hype and I must say so far it's definitely living up to that hype.

Why is GoT the one show where people that read the books like to even hint at spoilers? Not saying anything because of a particular post in this thread but just a general thing. Other shows are based on books or graphic novels (Dexter, Walking Dead, etc) but conversations can he had about those shows without knowing somebody will step in and tell you about what happened after it in the book.

I found it the opposite. Walking dead discussions were full of hints from book readers, while GoT is nada/zero. That is why I even question if there are books up to current show timeline. I was even contemplating that books are being written at the same time as the show :1orglaugh For example - if there is a known fact in the books of who killed the king it would have been out many many times by various posters.

Seeing the torture of Hodor was one of the hardest things to watch in this episode.
