I'm not taking sides here I just have a question for Minte.
Do you currently own adult websites or something related to this industry? Just wondering. |
Quote:
There is a deficit every fiscal year. Cutting the deficit means the deficit this fiscal year is less then the deficit last year. The deficit for fiscal year 2013 (ending Sept 30th) was $680B. The deficit in fiscal year 2009 was $1.4 Trillion. This $1.4T number is included in the numbers that the GOP like to talk about (as does your CBS News link) when discussing the debt increase under Obama. However the 2009 fiscal year technically started Oct 1st 2008 and was part of the budget proposed by Bush in June of 2008. It included all of the previous administration economic policies. |

And it is my contention that McCain's advisors sabotaged his campaign by giving him nothing to work with other than negative attacks. Other than the prospect of a healthcare voucher, it was nothing but a warparth of stale sound bytes. The fact the Romney and Ryan ran a far superior campaign and still lost to Obama who had less votes than in the first election pretty much is a testament as to how imbecilic and ineffective Palin and McCain were as both individuals and a team. Let us all be thankful that trainwreck was derailed before it reached the station. Not that it hasn't stopped Palin from influencing politics by backing up all these Tea Party crazies as retribution against the GOP for dumping her after the embarrassing loss. She's been intent up dividing and conquering the Republicans ever since. Now, she is intentionally sabotaging them. |

baddog, we can also be thankful that Kerry and Edwards ran a similar distaster of a campaign because they would have been like a couple of monkeys fucking a football. The Bush administration was like a flaming plane crash that had to burn out on its own, rather than having an Abbott and Costello routine trying to douse it with pails of water. :)

Paul Markham called me out too. And I know you read the thread. But as you seemingly aren't the sharpest tack in the box I'll post it again so this time you clearly see it. ----------> https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1085...hlight=apology <---------- If you still want to call me out I'll play. I'll pay(paypal) for your round-trip plane ticket and your expenses for the day to Wi where I will take you for a guided tour of my main plant. We will just do a driveby of my other plant. If I can successfully provide 100% clear proof then you can pay me back for the tickets and your daily stipend. I only have my Porsche and My wifes Mercedes convertible parked here inside, i'll pick you up in my Sclass so there will be no doubt there. It's only a short 20 minute ride to my home where I can show you the Lambo and the rest. If the weather is good, I'll be happy to fire it up and take you for a spirited ride through the country. When are you ready to go? It's 30 minutes from the airport to the plant So I can find a few hours any time. The only days that don't work for me this month are the 28th and 31st of this month. Feb is pretty much open right now. To the fellow wondering about my involvement in this industry. I was involved from 1997 until early in 2013 when I sold my last adult domain. During that period I ran more than Rockhard mentioned. At the heighth my various sites generated typically 400,000 unique visits daily.Anyone that worked at realitycash or playboy can verify that. Lorryn was the last active contact I had with them and she certainly knew my stats. To the rest of you that immediately go on the attack mode whenever I post. I could care less what you think or say. If your response to what began as a civilized conversation immediately has to turn into name calling and personal attacks. put me on ignore. I have a lot of friends here for many years that I don't see the need to walk away from because of you. I will be putting you on ignore and continue to enjoy my friends and their conversations. |
that's funny.. it's you who resorts to name calling.

Rochard should have read Minte's book:
http://www.oneletterwords.com/assets...20Did%20It.png Minte apparently is head of the company he inherited from his Dad: Quote:
http://c.o0bc.com/rf/image_539c400/B...-me_e-2602.jpg Basically, Minte is a mini-Romney wannabe (not that there's anything wrong with that). :upsidedow :stoned ADG |

I don't like getting personal on the boards, but your success Minte really isn't your success. You inherited it. |

You realize he might not have the same %'s but the $$$ can still be more right? |

I wish I would've inherited a pile of cash when he passed. It would've made thing a lot easier than it was. But again, my mother received that insurance money. You've obviously found one of the numerous news articles about the company, you know that in the year of his death we had just built a new 30,000 sq ft plant which was about half filled. Now scroll ahead 16 years. My manufacturing business has grown to 3 separate companies in a 502,000 Sq ft building sitting on 50 acres of land. My tire company alone does more sales in a week than we did in a year in the late 90's. It's significantly larger than the plastics/metals company. And the good news, is we invested heavily in new equipment in 2013. The tire company will grow at least 40% this year. We are hiring 50more employees in the first quarter. If you think that hasn't taken a lot of years of hardwork and dedication you would again be wrong. If it hurts you to view what others have done, don't look. There are a lot of car threads, vacation threads, jumbo tv threads, guitar threads, etc.. that get posted here that I have nothing to do with. This company was a team effort. Him and I started together, when I finished my tour in the army. That article was wrong btw. He completely retired in 1985. He owned a 37' tartan sailboat and a very nice RV which him and my mother traveled in most of the year. He actually had his heart attack when they were away. |

If you want to say I inherited my success, your welcome to say or think whatever you want. However, it's not true. |
I've heard this said before from wiser people than me and again recently that this place used to be somewhere that we would applaud others who have had success--and now we do the opposite.
Maybe instead of doubting them and questioning their abilities we should be learning from them instead? |

The only reason I mention where Minte's recent wealth came from, is because he has tried to create the impression that he is a self-made man, while posting on GFY like a mid-western Gordon Gekko wannabe. Definition of a self-made man: Quote:
I have total respect for a guy like Shap who really did build a company from the ground up, and instead of constantly boasting about his wealth, he starts adult industry related threads and offers mentoring and guidance to others in the business, inspiring people, and sharing his success. Of course, Shap sold his company for millions, while self-proclaimed business genius Minte traded his 15 year old adult company for a $1,500 guitar. :1orglaugh http://faireconomy.org/sites/default...MM%20Cover.jpg Quote:

Since he died, we have been able to turn it from a small metal shop to a much larger company. I have respect for Shap too, but lets not forget Mrs. Shap. Didn't she offer anything to the business? I believe she was a big part of their/his success. So quit putting words in my mouth. If your best response to a heated political thread is to make up bullshit about me, you are in over your head. And your jab about trading my final domain for a fender.. If someone had asked nicely I would've given it away. It was a hobby. It was fun and educational and I have no regrets. The time came when my mainstream business took too much time and something had to go. Easy choice. |

Now that it is clear that Minte is not a self-made man, and in fact much of his success can be attributed to his inheritance, time for a little light-hearted humor:

I am certain all your friends and supporters here are brimming with anticipation. :winkwink: I have my notepad ready. One thing I did learn early in my career. And shockingly, I have a small water fountain in my office. Nothing spendy.. maybe 100 bucks.and it's kind of old and beatup but I've had it a long time. When I am sitting here at my desk I always see it. It's a good message. GFY is a microcosm of society now. That renegade let's kick ass, take names and make money mentality is on hiatus. |

So yeah, 99% of the people on GFY went from being successful and full of optimism to barely making it. So their viewpoint and perspective is totally different now. I guess it's human nature. |
Quote:
The worse things get, the more people become marginalized, and the more dangerous the world becomes. GFY is no different in that regard than anywhere else. |
