I mean Russia was competing against other countries for honor to host the WOG. Somehow they won it(I've been in Sochi once, used to be good summer vacation place).
Now of course everybody will be bitching about all this failures. Unless Russians fixed everything last minute. And Russians them self are not happy about this situation. clickhappy - yes, this is iPillow lol |

Feb 6, 3:42 AM EST SOCHI SCENE: Welcome, world _ where are you? AP Photo AP Photo/Andy Wong Sports Video Olympics News SOCHI, Russia (AP) -- Olympic fans of the world, where are you? Sochi is (more or less) ready for you to come to its Winter Games. Thousands of athletes, soldiers, journalists and herds of smiley volunteers are in place, eager to help. So far, though, it seems like the only spectators milling about are Russian. Dina Kobolenko is waiting for you at her tourist information stand near the Sochi train station, armed with maps of this subtropical resort on the Black Sea. She says that as of two days before the Games, she'd seen only a single foreigner - a South Korean. They couldn't understand each other, though, so had to communicate in sign language. Fears about terrorism and the hassle of reaching Sochi from points abroad may be keeping some foreigners away - and undermining Vladimir Putin's plans to transform Sochi into a magnet for international tourism. A train traveling between Olympic sites and downtown Sochi cheerily announces to visitors in English: "We wish you a pleasant journey!" But on a recent ride, its seats were half empty. And a sweep through four train cars found ... not a single foreign fan. - Angela Charlton - Twitter http://twitter.com/acharlton --- . |

I'm far from the right wing, I just find liberals to be very annoying, extremely simple to the point of being dangerous and the biggest hypocrites on the planet. Liberals do serve a purpose just as the far right does. Civil rights, workers rights, universal healthcare, public safety are human rights to me in a just society. |

I bet your favorite movies and tv shows sitting on your shelf are written by liberals, acted by liberals, produced by liberals who "are annoying" to you. Hypocrites always annoy me. I have a friend who hates Walmart and is always bad mounting them, but shops there because of the low prices. That's like what you're doing. Quote:
I can't think of one conservative tech company that has done anything to improve my life. Chick fil a? FreeRepublic.com? Drudge report? All these companies that are advancing our lives support liberal causes not conservative ones. Conservatives are now the fringe nutjobs. |

What do you mean trapped? Borders are open - go anywhere you want to. Or fight for your rights, you got it? |
If you want examples disgusting human rights abuses all you have to do is go down to the local family court just about anywhere in the good old US of A.
And how about the media reports on all the gay and lesbian family court judges who love to destroy families and children. How about the media reports on the hatred the gays and lesbians spread? |

STOP THE PRESSES!
I have THE BEST story about what's happening in Sochi so far... http://gizmodo.com/sochi-official-our-shower-surveillance-footage-says-ho-1517435247?utm_campaign=socialflow_gizmodo_faceboo k&utm_source=gizmodo_facebook&utm_medium=socialflo w Sochi Official: Our Shower Surveillance Footage Says Hotels Are Fine By now, you've surely heard the harrowing stories about how the Sochi Olympic village is a hellscape of stray dogs, weird toilets, and unfinished accommodations. Well, according to the Russian official in charge, everything's cool! And he has the surreptitious surveillance footage to prove it. The WSJ reports that Russian deputy prime minister Dmitry Kozak is downright peeved at visiting journalists from the west. He claims the journos are deliberately trying to sabotage the Olympics as well as to undermine Russia's international reputation by sending back false reports that depict Sochi's often amusing lack of preparation for the games. So far, they've only received 108 "registered" complaints. According to Kozak, it's all a sham. Consider what the hidden surveillance cameras have detected: "We have surveillance video from the hotels that shows people turn on the shower, direct the nozzle at the wall and then leave the room for the whole day," he said. An aide then pulled a reporter away before Mr. Kozak could be questioned further on surveillance in hotel rooms. "We're doing a tour of the media center," the aide said. See, the 100,000 people being put up by the government in Sochi have nothing to worry about. Sochi's hotels aren't in shambles. The surveillance systems work just fine. [WSJ] :helpme:helpme:helpme Just................wow...... . |
Welp if there are any incidents of terrorism the conspiracy kooks will no doubt be posting 'proof' that it was black ops, to make the Russians look bad and the media is on it.

Hard to say what's really going on. The modern media shapes the news to their liking.
If Russia is claiming the media is leaving showers running all day to empty the hot water, it's probably true. You've also got to question some of the hotel photos. Did journalists stage that stuff for the viral effect on Twitter? |
