Another example. A man walked on frozen water, the other primitive peole never even thought to do that because they didn't understand it. They spread the tales someone 'walked on water', because if you dont know what ice is you call it that. That's where this bible story came from.
Compare it to a group of dogs where 1 dog dares to walk on ice where the others are scared to do so. People in those times were almost as primitive as dogs, i don't think you realise how backwards these people were compared to these modern times. You can't even compare it. And it these ultra primitive times they wrote up your favorite bundle of urban legends, the bible.

ADG - I have my preferences set so that I have to click on image links in order to see them. After making the mistake of clicking the first one you posted, I didn't click the rest. The reason I have my preferences set this way is due to exactly what you just posted. I suppose you find it funny to post that in a thread I started. I can see the humor in it, too. You know I am respectful of you and not going to judge you based on your religious convictions. I am only here to engage in healthy discourse and debate with someone I would call a friend.

I would just like you to note that sexual shame was never ever part of the gospels. The whole sexual shame aspect of Christianity didn't even enter the picture until many hundreds of years after Christ. Frankly, the ones calling for Chastity and a male dominant class of religious leaders didn't come into the picture until Corinthians. Let's face it, that paved the way for the Catholic Church and they don't really have the best rep for a healthy attitude towards sex, much less a respect for tolerance of any sort if you take into account the Crusades, Nazis, etc.

Going back to the OT, the Ten Commandments are not even anti sex, just anti-covet, and there is a huge difference. Appreciating sex and sexuality and human form, considering that is what makes God's Creation viable in the first place, stands to reason that sex and sexuality are not the things that Jesus was preaching about. His earliest fans were prostitutes forgodsakes! Tossing the temple had less to do with sex than it has to do with misuse of the premises for the intended purpose of worship. At least that is what I get from it.

I don't see a conflict with self-respect and having sex, no matter if it's a woman or a man.

People have to choose for themselves and hopefully find their own peace with their decisions.

I also don't think it's fair to perpetuate some dated patriarchal mentality that a woman that enjoys getting laid is a whore and a dude that enjoys sex is a stud, casually or not.
