Countries that implemented one or another version of communism in the 20th century include Russia (as the Soviet Union), China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, and North Korea. In every case, communist dictators rose to power in order to enforce the reordering of the political and economic structure. Today, Russia and Cambodia are no longer communist, China and Vietnam are politically communist but economically capitalist, and Cuba and North Korea continue to practice communism.

Countries with socialist policies, in combination with a capitalist economy and democratic political system, include Sweden, Norway, France, Canada, India and the United Kingdom. In each of these cases, socialism has achieved the moderation of capitalistic drives for profit at any human expense, without disincentivizing work or brutalizing the populace. Socialist policies provide for worker benefits such as vacation time, universal health care, subsidized child-care, etc. without demanding central control of industry.

Politically Communist, but they are a capitalist country. That's the difference. saying they are just communist is wrong. I think as a few people I talked to there that it is more socialist and communist control more than the government that's in place does.

Yeah, we went everywhere, different restaurants every night. Very few restrictions even if you could call them that.

The amount of construction I saw was mind boggling. Traveling down the Yangtze River, I saw more bridges than I thought existed. But when you hear about cities that have over 30 million people in them, it's just a difference that's fun to experience. Best trip I have ever taken. Lots of walking, great food, everyone in the group worked well together, good guide that made sure everything was taken care of. All the way down to our boarding passes. She was there at the airport to say good bye!

Seriously. I've always admired things from that part of the world, but honestly never considered actually visiting. But seeing these photos has put a desire in me to look into it. I think it would be awesome to be surrounded by that culture for a few weeks and take in so many beautiful sights

how about people relation towards tourists? they were friendly/truly/false? any hostility or not?

Whats up with "hostility" comments in this thread? Are you living under the rock that you imagine somewhere people are hostile against tourists?
It is not some hardcore muslim country where SOME people might not like westerners etc.

When you are walking down the street, you get a lot of looks, but it was out of curiosity, they don't see too many foreigners. Just the tour groups mainly. But when we went thru a park on a Sunday, it was filled with people dancing and doing exercises. They invited into that as we walked thru which was a lot of fun, the more you got into it, the more fun they had and you had.

Just woke up, going to be a couple days till we are back to normal time I think

Thank You, I have a good woman in my life that likes to live life. So we get out a lot and enjoy everything. This is part of it. Her and I travel well together, on the motorcycle or on a plane. Next big trip will be for our honey moon. Next year, Sturgis 75th

I think these roasted ones are not chickens. Will not investigate what pets or reptiles is that.

Ate some jelly fish, some veggies I have never seen before, that was about it.

Peking duck was pretty good. Last dinner I had there was that and very generous. I drink a bunch of their fire water, really strong.............

In a few years, I may go to Thailand, I've been close, went to Singapore years ago

Beijing is where it was located I believe, we went to so many places. Xi'an was my favorite city where I had the most fun.
