About 100,000 homes were without power across Serbia, and 400 schools were closed. Most sources suggest this is "the biggest flood ever recorded in Balkan history".

It works to me. Open http://www.srbija.gov.rs/ and find banners "Accounts for assistance to victims of flood" or "paypal payments".

And on 16th. Slovenia for example already sent their help. And although Slovenia is in European Union, that help was not from European Union, it was from country it self. On 18th the news told us that through people donations, Slovenia gathered 100 000 euro to donate to floods disaster. THIS also was not sent from European Union Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC). The help that Slovenia sent us was in Rescue vehicles, and in man power. Again this was on 16th. The article you posted is made on 17th and the same news as in your article, we received was on 18th. The truth is that European Union decided to help after their round table gathering, and after seeing how many countries helped us without even asking European Union if they should help or not. European Union is an UNION of countries, agreement, but countries still work for them self. And that UNION have Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), which is basically like you in your house have Piggy Bank. and saving money for emergency cases. Now this is whole different help that will be sent to us. Do you understand now what i was talking about? |

Only 6 transport helicopters, engineering units didn't do shit, no enough boats (they sold them on scrapyards) and idiotic small amount of active military . Serbia army is now around 22K people...what is complete disaster. For comparasion, back in 1999 , there were more than 115K people (without police and special forces) So every stupid nation that is naive enough that is expecting others help before doing all it takes on their own to handle situations like this deserve to be slapped like this. In decades before, there were perfectly organised systems and military drills for different scenarios that is basically not existing today. Uncompetent people are on positions, chief of army is political puppet and country that is unable to do shit. People know that, and below is video of mad guy attacking minister of justice yesterday when he came to take video and make political marketing on disaster of ordinary people. 4:10 - Bosnia |
there is no real government in serbia...its like the world wrestling federation...all the people are there...it all looks real at first glance...but it is just for show...
the reaction and rescue efforts were for the most part shockingly un-coordinated...we have a completely incompetent government that is only interested in shifting blame and gaining cheap political points and covering up their own utter ineptness... watching local politicians on the news is like watching a bad spanish soap opera... thank you so much to the russian rescue men who flew in to help, this is what real help is...no bullshit no excuses "We are on our way"... also it is not true that the EU is not going to give "aid" it is just waiting to negotiate the terms of this "aid" first and see how badly we are hurting and then get the best blow job possible from our politicians on the terms and conditions :2 cents: |

Damn, that's horrible - enjoyed my visit to Serbia and have some close friends in Balkan, always enjoyed the culture and people there (keeping lots of Balkan movies and music).
Wishing a lot of strength and a speedy recovery. If you know about any sensible way to help please give me a pointer, I don't want to contribute through any "government" programme since I know how the government functions here and am afraid yours is not much different. Did this ever happen anytime recently? I don't remember major floods in Balkan, here in Czech it happened already three or four times during the past 20 years, not on this scale though. |

http://www.floodrelief.gov.rs/eng/ is the official site
the disaster is too wide spread and the damage too great for the politicians to be lining pockets with this money...at this moment they are pretending to be competent, and as much as I hate that this money will in one way "salvage" their incompetent assholes, I am sure a great deal of it will actually end up helping the victims because 20.000 homeless and the billions in damage is just too much to ignore for them...with most of the crops gone, and the fields too moist to work for the next 3-4 weeks, it will literally take billions of $$$ to even speak of stating crops for the next year, providing the farmers who lost everything could survive a one year financial vacuum and live off of air... 2 wars, 20+ years of economic sanctions, idiot puppet politicians and now this...this is going to be a long one :2 cents: |

But gypsies are the worst. Over 1000 reports from gypsies who doesn't live in flooded areas just came there in hotels who offered free sleepover and free meals for those who were flooded, using situation to get their sleep and food for free, and maybe to get one more house when country start building houses which are destroyed or not usable anymore. Who knows how many dipshits are not found out yet trying to take advantage of this situation. |
Damage from flooding in Serbia is at least one billion euros, but pessimistic forecasts show that can reach up to 1.5 billion, analysts estimate unofficially. :(

The point of the European Union is that each member country agrees to certain terms, such as helping other countries in need. To my knowledge there is no EU task force like with example UN, therefor each member is going to act individually based on whatever was agreed upon. That is why you are seeing different countries providing aid. Once the disaster have been handled I'm sure that the EU will start working with your country to help planning and probably finance the infrastructure being rebuild. Its terrible to see everything around you falling apart, I understand your frustration. The way you act is very insulting towards anyone who does help and I'm sure that anyone in your country who had a loved one saved by the help of foreign help would be ashamed of seeing someone represent their country the way you do. If you wanna help say thanks to the ones who does help and encourage the rest to provide help as well |
