^ Well that isn't something only a complete wanker would post at all.

It's just one of those things - my brother used to be super crazy about football, in his teens he got chased by other team's fans and a few seconds was all that saved him from getting a juicy beating (he and his friends barely managed to get into their car and drive off).

Another time he took off from school and got stranded in another city for two days during a severe snow storm, without my parents knowing where he was.

Yet another time, after a “super-awesome” victory of the national team, he “borrowed” the flag from the city council and was leading a massive group of joyous fans … until the cops interfered and reclaimed possession of the flag.

It's entertainment and the finals of the best of the best, these people have real skills..
Sounds like you don't have hobbies..

chaze 06-17-2014 11:28 AM

You have to play it, it's about the best at something you tried to do.

Jel 06-17-2014 11:35 AM

as for offside, here's how it is for girls & americans...

So, you're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the same till.

Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes that you have seen and you must have them.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them and is also eyeing them up with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be rude to push in front of the woman in front of you if you had no money to pay for the shoes, wouldn't it now.

The shop assistant stays at the till.

Your friend is trying another pair of shoes on at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.

Se prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does, you can catch the purse and walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes.

At a pinch, she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper, and while the purse is in the air, you could nip round the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.

ALWAYS remember that until the purse has been thrown it would be just plain wrong of you to be ahead of the other shopper, considering she was there first.

bet how much? I'll take it :thumbsup

and your example is like the equivalent of grassing up a fellow 7 year old for shitting in someone's sandwich, versus running to the teacher because someone whispered to you during class.

Eat a dick, cock holster :thumbsup

Any sport that requires you to move your ass for 45 minutes without a break is bound to have a hard time in the US...

Now THERE is a very good point! LOL

BTW: I never once said that anyone who's into soccer (futbol) is an idiot, stupid, what's wrong with them etc. Hey, if you dig it great. But I do not get it, that's all. Mostly just having fun here poking at all the soccer cultists but, at the end of the day, it's just a game and if it brings enjoyment to bilions then so be it. :)

Now, the rioting, violence and incessant noise-making is another matter. Then again, I don't understand why LA Lakers fans riot and burn the city after their team has WON. LOL

Let's face it: soccer/futbol is for poor people with nothing better to do but relive their shitty childhood memories of growing up dirt poor and only having a wee wittle ballie to kick awound. People going apeshit over dudes passing a ball, dribbling back-and-forth in the middle of a gigantic field. Oh the strategy! Oh the anticipation! Oh the dirt poor nations of the world using a boring sport as an excuse to be nationalistic! Yay.

No thanks - give me sex NOW (fuck 'anticipation'). Give me scoring NOW. Let me win NOW. I am an AMERICAN and I WIN and this is why WE are #1 in th world, not fucking Brasil or Portugal or fucking France.

GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

Pfft.

Poor people? WTF are you mumbling about? This is loved and number one sport in many rich countries... Germany, UK and so on.
And really poor countries like India not loving it.

As these guys said:

Actually let's be honest here: ANY American who's "into" the World Cup is "into it" for one reason and one reason only: gambling. If an American can make a buck off it we'll watch. But just to shout 'USA! USA!'....no, that's what the Olympics are for.

Moron, half of the olympics sports are 10 times more boring and "less action" than football.

Just to remind of your stupidity: you called baseball and golf less boring than football. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh That is like: say what :helpme

Abd they want to introduce rules everywhere in order to get more points. Not only football, but also hockey, basketball and so on. The more points the better the sport :thumbsup:1orglaugh
Simple entertainment :winkwink:

As per usual your assumptions are incorrect...

Plenty of people in North America love the sport as well. I love how quick you are to point out how narrow our points of view are yet you are always the first to point your fingers at others.

"North America" would include Mexico and Canada so I suppose you have a point. But where are all the AMERICANS chiming in to disagree with my point that Americans do not understand or care about soccer?

Fuck man, Americans are so disinterested in soccer/futbol that they won't even click on a thread discussing it. LOL

Check out The Colbert Report last night for the best example of how we Americans feel about soccer and the World Cup. :)

I'll happily watch any code of football, but Association Football (soccer) is my favourite. I understand the skills, the rules, and the tactics. All the midfield play and missed attempts are almost as exciting as the goals themselves.

Essentially any game that uses a round ball has the most accurate results based on skill.
I'll happily watch Rugby (union and league) but how many times will there be a "favourable bounce" that is the difference between a try or not. Similarly this is a failing in Australian Rukes football, but at least that's a fast and high scoring game.
Gaelic football and hurling are better for using a round ball.

As for gridiron (American football) that is just too technical and for someone such as myself that does not know the rules, gridiron is interrupted by incomprehensible stoppages that slow everything down.

If you really need a game that requires understanding before any appreciation, try cricket. One test match goes for 5 days and can finish a draw.

What are you talking about?

Players learn how to read the bounce and utilise the bounce, stop speaking out of your ass.

FWIW, I have shot 100's of premier grade rugby matches , regular rounds, finals and interstate over 10 seasons. Yes, of course rugby players learn to read the bounce, but the bounce has to actually happen to be read and a favourable bounce often makes the difference to score. It's hard to utilise a bounce that delivers to the opposition on defense. Do you never hear the commentary?

The trajectory and bounce of a round ball is very much determined by the way it was hit in the first place.
