why isn't the news debating more on HOW those 2 American doctors (aides) got it ? They took the utmost of precautions, and probably had full body suits / goggles / multiple layers of gloves /and highest filtration face mask...

^ the part that's most disturbing...

The amount of disinformation being spread around causing people not to get their kinds vaccinated is the root cause of the rise in infections of diseases like Measles, Flu, and even TB.

What do anti-vaccinators have to do with ebola and TB? There is no vaccine for ebola and while there is a vaccine for TB it is not part of the regular vaccination schedule.

It has everything to do with immigrants - sick immigrants, legal or otherwise, should not be allowed over the border. Period.

the federal government chooses NOT to defend our boarders and sues states that DO try and defend the boarder.. .. fucking way out there isn't it?

boarders and borders are not the same thing

Don't worry - they are keeping you safe on the northern border and protecting you from a deadly influx of.....Kinder Eggs. :1orglaugh

Two Seattle men say they spent more than two hours in a detention center at the Canadian border after U.S. border agents discovered illegal chocolate eggs in their car.

Brandon Loo and Christopher Sweeney told Seattle's KOMO-TV they decided to bring home some treats for friends and family during a recent trip to Vancouver. They bought Kinder Eggs ? chocolate eggs with a toy inside.

The two men say border guards searched their car and said the eggs are illegal in the United States because young children could choke on the small plastic toys. Importing them can lead to a potentially hefty fine.

Key words being "at least".

If your water and power shuts off, if your local supermarket shelves are suddenly empty, and something like ebola is out there killing everyone, you're either going to be screwed like the rest or you're going to survive.

Which one will you be?

Of course you could just pick up a gun and be the guy that goes out and steals from the people who are prepared when you weren't. But the flaw in that plan is that you may very well get your theiving useless head blown off by someone who truly IS prepared. ha, won't that be fun? :D

This is what I'm saying.... It doesn't matter what it is but you can't think "It would never happen here" because it can.

A while back our town had a propane train fire - and without warning they evacuated 30k people out of town. If you were told to leave your house for six days and only had five minutes of warning, could you do it?

Years ago during the Loma Prieta earthquake we went days with no power.... The first two days were fun until you discovered most of your food has gone bad, and the stores aren't open.

I just like to keep prepared.

If you are concerned about gen noise, go with an inverter charger and battery with a solar panel. 3000 watts is a lot of juice more than needed if you don't plan on running an ac unit. A good inverter charger like the 1500 watt Aims + a group 4d gel battery and a solar panel is a slick setup and will handle a lot and no noise. All for about $1000, less if you don't need a pure sine wave power source.

Most Western countries do not have these problems, hence Ebola is a third world epidemic unless it ever becomes air born..

Yeah, I agree, i wasn't being sarcastic. Most of what whp posts is idiotic and negative. It was just refreshing for him to say something that is not purely fear mongering based.

Wrong, the flu has been and remains the biggest killer virus in history. If you've ever read a history book you would know this. I don't see anyone panicking about that one though..
