Ok I double checked the stats 22 bikes entered 19 Harleys and 3 BMW's The BMW won by a landslide, they don't allow sportbikes in this competition, looks like just police bikes.

riding a bike is all about common sense. my first bike was a 1989 Yamaha FZR 600 3HE model, which looked old, but even if it's an old bike, it's a great one. as it was my first ride, I had to be careful and to pay attention of what i do and how i do it...

the bike looked like this when i got it

http://upload.szabadka.org/yamaha-fzr-before.jpg

after spending some cash on it, I made it be more, umm, street like ;)

this is how it looks now

https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/...26463555_n.jpg

actually, i never had any serious accidents, but while i was learning how to wheelie and stuff, i had take out 2 weeks ;))

http://upload.szabadka.org/lollab.jpg

what i want to say is, know your limits, know what you do and know what you want to do.. if you feel like getting into stunts and stuff, get a bike which is good for that...remember, if you get a bike which is not good for stunts, you will get bored after you realize how much fun this hobby has.. i actually, even if i do wheelies and stuff, i feel like I'm bored, so I'm getting a new, 250ccm Honda CR dirt bike just to have some more fun...

I raced that same bike for years, loved it, plain and simple it just felt right!

I fucked up the kickstand and laid one down in my driveway (600 lbs), and it just kept going back and forth LOL .. fucked up the fairings really good.

I had a little fall on mine a couple months ago, wasn't hard to pick it up, thanx to having crash bars, plus nothing was damaged on the bike because of them

That's the way I was taught, impressive to see a woman do it.

yea, definitely a great bike. I love it's engine, but I didn't like it's tail, so i had to rebuild it... now it has a 1999 Yamaha R6 tail, 1999 Yamaha r6 seats, 2001 Yamaha YZF Thundercat tank, Yamaha MT03 headlight and a Renthal cross handlebar... now it's something I love and what i enjoy riding :)

I just got an email for the Love Ride in October that Glendale Harley does, biggest single day event in the US I'm told. Looks like we're going.

I ride somewhere on most weekends, next Wednesday night going to Schooners in Canyon Country with a friend, they have a live band, good pick of tap beers and food specials.

Shit!!! You live near me! Awesome!!

Lets go ride!!

My studio is in Chatsworth and my house is in Woodland Hills.

Contact me and lets go do this!

I'll drop you a line. I know Chatsworth and Woodland Hills pretty good. I've lived in both. There's a little bar called the gold Cadillac that organizes small poker runs every once in a while, they have a bartender, woman, that rides a full size Harley.

Next Weekend doing some work on a friends house, weekend after that looking to have a long ride somewhere.

I love FZR's one of my first street bikes! 94 FZR w/ D&D exhaust and a rejetted carb. Fucker used to move for a 600.

Not really for me, I'm a half shell kind of guy, but even if I wanted one, I'll have to wait till they offer a bigger helmet to fit me!

My first thought: awesome

then i read "phone & music" and thought: wtf?

and then I thought that in my past i preferred to ride with open visor with sunglasses and closed visor only when it rains - so I would not buy it

but the idea is still awesome (minus phone and music - that seems like built in suicide)

Cool idea. But I only ride full face when I go long distances. Out of the state usually.

I have a Scala G9 headsets on all of my helmets.

They bluetooth my GPS, Phone, Voice command, Sirius radio all at the same time.

Seems to fit the bill for what I need.

Yeah, most of the time I wear a half helmet, I like to hear what's going on around me and the pipes on my bike are just fine for music.
Maybe someday I'll get one of those Ultra Glides and enjoy the whole package...

Where are living?

Got a halfy, a "Bob" (Open Face 3/4 Helmet), and a full-face. All equipped with the Scala Rider G9s.

I rode to my studio toady. Been riding to work just about everyday.

The ol' V-Twin is the only soundtrack I listen to while I ride... :thumbsup

I'm a big guy and finding things that fit can be a hassle, Daytona makes a xxxl half helmet that fits nicely, I have a xxl full face, but it's a little too tight. I may get another full face for when I we do some longer rides. Weekend after this, me and mine are going up to Los Olivos for some wine and fun, maybe venture up the coast a little further. Then stop on the way back to The Palms in Carpinteria for dinner, that place has been open since 1912. This weekend, I have to do the front brakes on my bike, so the ride tonight got cancelled.

Go north out of Los Olivos on Foxen Canyon Road, https://goo.gl/maps/9v5xv it's rough in a few places but a really nice ride through the hills and past a bunch of wineries, Fess Parker's is on Foxen Canyon http://www.fessparkerwines.com/, to Santa Maria then on to Nipomo to eat at Jocko's https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0428...m1 !1e1?hl=en (get a reservation, and prepare to wait) It's been a local landmark forever http://www.jockosmix.com/jockos-history/ the help is surly, the decor is fugly, the bar is dim and the atmosphere in the restaurant just plain sucks, that all goes away when you bite into that huge Spencer steak cooked over an open oakwood fire. :thumbsup

Hell I just got an email that my new tire shipped so I'll be back on the road by next week, and since you'll be in my back yard maybe I'll join you :1orglaugh

Exactly. I am amazed how someone could even try to oppose this statement :1orglaugh
This is so obvious that even a non rider (such as myself) can tell. How can someone who is a long term rider try to oppose it... Unbelievable really :)

i use the half helmet for safety reasons myself. any full shell ones i tried out interfered with my peripherals which can be deadly.

The base bike was a 1990 Yamaha FZR 600 3HE modded with 1999 R6 Tail, 1999 R6 Seats, 2001 YZF Thundercat Tank, Yamaha XJ Diversion Triple Clamp, Renthal Cross Handlebar, Yamaha MT03 Headlight, Universal Mirrors with built in turn signals, led turn signals on the back, and custom made license plate holder

I don't have any photos of the front, but will do some soon... honestly, I'm too lazy :D

I was a bit annoyed when I came back home to California and found there was now a helmet law

That's a nice carbon fiber, I a have a fiberglass jockey/polo that I've never even worn, got it at the same time as the carbon fiber which I just liked so much I left the fiberglass one parked :)

http://images.leatherup.com/imagespr...==_H_SW700.jpg

I also have some "novelty" skullcaps and some DOT monsters that give you The Great Gazoo effect.

http://kellylight.com/wp-content/upl.../05/gazoo1.jpg

I thought the Outlaw carbon fiber was a good compromise being DOT approved at the time I bought it, it subsequently failed DOT testing and got recalled but I'm keeping mine :thumbsup

Now I'm going to have to look at getting one like yours, how bad is the Mushroom Head?

Ran into problems doing my front brakes and I had oral surgery today, If I get the chance, I will try to finish them tomorrow, but probably not going to happen. Next weekend looks promising. I'll post when I know. Would love to get with other GFY'ers for a ride. I may be getting a Dyna soon because of some money I loaned to someone.

BTW, Oral surgery, I wouldn't recommend it, it truly sucks
