What a last quarter of the season this is turning out to be! In the AFC alone we have half a dozen teams all tied at 7-5 and looking for a wildcard spot (or better). In the NFC the race is no less tight.

Giants woes continue with a loss to the lowly Jaguars of Jacksonville. Green Bay beats New England to make this interesting. And Atlanta won over Arizona, which surprises me in that some of you actually took the Falcons in that game. Well done.

Another close finish week in the pool. Sports news media is all abuzz today about Aaron Rogers and the incredible stats milestones he's hit and the ones he's surpassed with the Pack's win over Atlanta in last night's Monday Nighter. But while everyone is focused on that we in the pool can't overlook the fact that the so-called 'lowly Falcons' put up 37 points on one of the league's best teams.

There's also some buzz this week about the possibility of Niner's coach Harbaugh leaving SF at some point and heading over to Oakland. Then I got this tweet yesterday and it made me smile....

You know it's getting late in the season when teams start 'clinching' things. Take New England for example. With their win over the Dolphins they've clinched the AFC East. Colts and Broncos have clinched their divisions as well, and the Cardinals have clinched a playoff spot of their own.

Saints looked like their old winning selves last night in their win over the floundering Bears. Cowboys edged the Eagles on Sunday, and a horrible call by the ref may have sealed the coffin with the final nail in the 49'ers loss to Seattle. Packers' loss to the Bills is also going to make for an interesting finish in the NFC North.

In the pool it was pretty much a lock by Sunday night. The Monday Nighter could have gone either way and it wouldn't have made a difference...

Thursday Night Futility:
 

The Jacksonville Jaguars downed the Tennessee Titans 21-13 on Thursday Night Football. The Titans have now lost nine games in a row.


I never thought I'd be saying this but thank God I went with Jacksonville. :D

Damn the niners have really imploded this season.

Certainly didn't expect that much of a bad season.

I don't know what's up with Kaepernick. One quarter he plays at his optimum throwing bullets and running like the wind, and in the next he's making the rookie mistakes that he seemed to bypass in his first season.

Same with their D. Hot and cold all season. Fierce one minute getting sack after sack and shutting down the run, nailing interceptions, etc, and then utterly feeble the next.

All this talk about Harbaugh leaving probably isn't helping.

Peyton Manning throws a rare 4 interceptions in the Monday Nighter which resulted in the Broncos losing to Cincy 37-28. Romo on the other hand passed the Cowboys all-time passing record in their landslide win on Sunday over the Colts. Dallas is looking like a contender. Could this be the year that everyone finally stops calling him "homo"? :D

A big final week of the regular season this one was. Carolina wins the NFC South which means that for the first time in I don't know how long a sub-500 team will be going to the playoffs. The Cowboys are also in the playoffs, for the first time since 2009 I might add. They'll join the Steelers, Colts, Cards, Ravens, Bengals, and Lions on Wildcard Weekend to see who makes it to the Division Playoffs.
