i don't understand this - the concept is that you buy Apple when you can afford it and stick to Windows PC when you are poor?

The point I was making is he's like the guy driving a Honda saying the Ferrari brakes suck. I just like to poke fun at the guy on non-issues, because he always reacts. :winkwink:

On the contrary I grasp simple concept of price/quality. If one computer cost 2K and another 3K and they both are equally good I buy the one for 2K.
Even if I have 1.000.000 in my bank account.
And laugh at those closed minded individuals who always drop "you can't afford apple" when somebody is claiming that apple is NOT better :)

I have to agree with you on this. The hardware is build to last (unlike the iPhone that people tend to upgrade every other year) the computers really last. My partner has a 15" Macbook Pro (late 2009 series) that I recently worked on when he got a new one. The computer had it's hard drive maxed out and 4 gigs of memory...ran like an old computer BUT never died on him (unlike the 4 laptops I went through)!

I took the old drive out and replaced it with a 250 ssd, doubled the memory to 8 gigs, and it's now running like a new computer (even with the old cpu). It will go for years! The only bummer is no retina display of course!

The integration of the OS with the hardware can not be bet and the latest free upgrade to Yosemite is really great. Runs fast and is visually amazing - highly recommended!

you have good points but those days are over. Now you are buying a very expensive laptop where nothing is up gradable on purpose. That does effect its long term viability.

next year they will come out with the 6K display that even creatures with super-human eye sight will not be able to see the pixel of, and they will call it "hawk eye display" and they will put in a 2 year old intel and some other horribly over priced components and the crapple fan boys will be moist around the asshole all over again, standing in line to buy shit that the PC had like 2 years ago....

"retina display" :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

What you fail to grasp is that people who HAVE Apple products chuckle when you try to make the case that most Windows-based PCs come close to the build quality of a Mac. There's a vast gap between the two. Sure, LV products are expensive -- but you know what? They're also well made, and last a long time. If you want to go with a Wal-Mart knock-off because it's cheaper, that's your prerogative, but to say "LV is too expensive because X, Y, and Z," it just demonstrates that cost is your deciding factor, not the other things you're complaining about. Those who can afford it, will ... and it's not really any of your business that they "waste" the money, in your eyes, because you A) can't, and B) won't.

Ok so you still do not grasp the concept of price vs quality...

Cost is not deciding factor, price vs quality is.

To put it super simple for your brain:

1 kg of X potatoes cost $1
1 kg of potatoes Y cost $10

Y potatoes is 1% better.

Would you buy Y potatoes because they are better? Or would you evaluate price vs quality and decide that buying Y would be stupid?

I would go for X not because of the price (as you claim with "price is the deciding factor"), but because of price vs quality or price vs value or whatever you call it.

I can not put it simpler than that for you to understand.

This has nothing to do with apple, just explaining price vs value concept as you surprisingly do not grasp such a thing...

*****************

And how dare I complain about apple (like that thing about making users life more difficult with "closed system philosophy), it must not be true, I must be complaining because I can't afford. After all - apple products are magical and any complaint about them equals not being able to afford...
It is such a dumb thing to ASSUME that no words could describe. Narrow minded people think that way.

And same goes for your LV and Ferrari examples. You assume that people could not complain about certain things (that means you think they are God's creatures and 100% ideal) and if they do they do it because they "can't afford", lol.

ps: I would love to own a ferrari and CAN'T afford it. Does not correlate with your assumption that I should hate on it because I can't afford it, does it? :1orglaugh
Also would hate to own LV and I CAN afford it. Also does not correlate with your narrow minded way of thinking, lol.

Yes, especially if I used potatoes to generate my income, like I do on my Apple computers. Even 1% better is worth it, in that regard ... and it'd be silly to say otherwise. :thumbsup

Here's a killer statement for this thread that should kill all future Apple threads too: If you don't like Apple products, don't buy them.

/thread.
