Actually, I am of the opinion that freedom of speech should allow for anyone's views to be expressed, be they racist, homophobic, sexist or whatever. Even if I despise them. As long as those views are simply hateful words, I believe they should be allowed. It's only when they're starting to encourage acts of violance, against the "hated" ones, that society/government should intervene.

Both of my grandfathers were WWII vets, and both died about 10-20 years ago, oldest one being 95. Depends from who you ask, they either fought on the axis side, or if you ask me, they didn't, as to us it was just another war against Russia.

I almost agree - except when it's directed directly against someone. eg if I was that tool mineistaken, I can talk generally about how I despise brown babies etc. But if I call someone who is black a hahahahahaha and society had it right when their grandad was a slave, that crosses the line into a personal attack. People should be allowed to say what they want. It's more dangerous behavior to put someone in jail for saying something, than it is to say "Hitler was right". Is it not obvious that the guy is wrong by saying that about Hitler? Why would anyone be threatened by that?

Speaking as a Jew, who had a grandmother that survived a camp, I find this kind of law completely wrong and I always have. I was staggered years ago, when a French friend of mine told me that denying the Holocaust was a "crime" in Europe. That kind of censorship is total bullshit. If some wackjob moron wants to claim that it never happened, or that Hitler was a great guy, then he should have the right to say / print that crazyiness.

Luckily in the US, we are still clinging on to the right to free speech, but only barely.
