I agree he purposely ran over him (though also agree he was being a dick standing where he was just to make the wheelchair go around him), and though 'assault' seems an overkill word to use, that's the word used in law. So arrest the guy, do your job you were selected and trained to do. Don't do your job properly to the point you also assault someone (I'm guessing nobody would even try to spin that as self-defence), and you should be fired.

Like I said eralier, some dickhead runs his wheelchair over your foot while you are working in walmart, and you can nail on you'll be fired and arrested for assault.

Don't like dealing with assholes all day? Simple - don't become a police officer being paid to deal with assholes all day :2 cents:

It may have hurt to have his foot run over and he reacted in the heat the moment. Still, his reaction was inappropriate and he deserved to be punished, but (at least as far as the article says) it doesn't seem like this guy has a history of this kind of stuff and he is now working in administration.

Get your shit together, learn to read and comprehend. In the post above this you rant about a post that is full of sarcasm and even has "sarcasm" written in the bottom.

In my posts I go out of my way to say I don't defend ANYTHING the cop does. I only point out that the best way to avoid cops doing something uncalled for is to make sure you don't do something so fucking stupid that you draw the attention of police in the first place. Like make the comment you are caring a gun on school property.

He can do like I do. Stop and politely ask the person to step aside so that he can get through. The cop severely overreacted, but there is no excuse for what this guy in the wheelchair did.

If you are defending this guy in the wheelchair, seriously take a step back. Being in a wheelchair, disabled, whatever, does not give you a green card to be a total twat. Purposely trying to injure someone else makes you a total twat, regardless of your status.

Both of these people were wrong. Neither have a defense.

of course there is no excuse for being a twat, but not all people are of equal mentality/intelligence/rationale. You wouldn't react like that if some kid did something like that, because you'd know he was just a dumb kid. I'm pretty surprised that people aren't comprehending that a person who would do what the guy in the wheelchair did, can't be the brightest button in the box by the evidence that he did what he did.

A trained police officer would surely realise that all people are not equal in the IQ department, no? Who would do what the wheelchair guy did, and not expect a consequence? Only a person without the brains of any sane, rational person - that stands to reason by the facts here.

politely ask the retard to please stop driving 300-400 pounds over his foot 2x?

stop the retard while 300-400 pounds is on his foot so he can politely remove the weight from his foot?

I mean really, cops are expected to have higher feet standards too? think about several hundred pounds driving slowly over your foot. badge or not you won't let that happen/

The police officer was absolutely an idiot. He completely overreacted, like I said. His actions could have killed the guy in the wheelchair or severely hurt one of the other policeman standing there by having the wheelchair fall on them.

With that said, you are still giving the guy in the wheelchair an out. If he does not have the mental capacity to drive his wheelchair without injuring others, then he should not be driving his wheelchair. That wheelchair is far too dangerous to other people if the driver cannot drive properly.

An out from being assaulted like he was, is the only out I'm giving him. It's obvious he thought he'd play tough guy with the cop, who also played tough guy (and won), and I very much doubt he is some kind of danger in as far as being unable to drive his wheelchair without injuring others.

By that token, the dumb fuck cop doesn't have the mental capacity to be out on the street doing anything whatsoever, if his first inclination when spotting some disabled guy in a wheelchair getting thrown out of a property is to stand like a fuckwit in front of him in some kind of "I am harder than you are" show.
