I've tried to switch to Mac a couple of times, bu I dont like the operating system. I dont like having to relearn how to do something that just me seconds to do on my PC.

I do like my iPhone though.

woj 11-08-2014 08:27 PM

you guys need to be comparing apples to apples... not apples to oranges...

no shit that $299 PC you bought from walmart has problems, but $2999 mac doesn't... it doesn't mean that macs are better... you are just comparing apples to oranges...

compare $2999 PC with a $2999 mac, and you will see that you get same reliability as the mac, but you get 2x the performance for the same price...

Not a bad point. Haven't seen it positioned this way before.

You nailed it right here.

There is nothing that comes close when you're developing code.

It's 2014 and you can't even open a terminal window on Windows, you're still stuck with command or cmd which gives you access to no development or decent network tools whatsoever (except for a poorly implemented trace route and ping).

But... if I enjoy the experience of using a Mac more than a PC, Imma' get me a Mac. It's funny that people think they know what every computer user should look for in a computer. That they know what is important to every computer user. I used PC's for years before switching to Macs and I like Macs better. I can't help it if dumb people can't understand this simple concept. Nigga's be like "OMG the PC is cheaper so you must be dumb for spending mo' money for a Mac when you can get a superior machine for 1/2 the price" LOL! Fuck you - I'll use what I want and if you don't like it - eat shit and die :thumbsup

There are commercial tools for windows which can do whatever you can imagine.Ofcourse if you compare default windows with default mac,i guess mac is better then.

all apple products i have still work without any problem

once i had to hard reset ipod

Tulku 11-09-2014 03:20 AM

Hey guys,

I'm not fan of Apple products at all ( honestly I'm opposite ), but I'm looking for ultrabook in the price range $1500-$2000 and from what I'm seeing Macbook Air is the best. I tried hard looking for Win .. I liked the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, but there's problems with Wi-Fi, display yellow and such shit plus it looks cheap inside with some plastic etc. I don't want to buy something not so cheap and have problems like these. So in the end the last couple of days I decided to get the MBA (and will install Windows on it lol)

Have A Nice And Productive Day!

RandyRandy 11-09-2014 05:21 AM

We're opening our 2nd shop on Saturday. We are opening our central kitchen/warehouse on Tuesday. I looked at all the options out there and it wasn't even close, considering price, power, and apps to integrate all three locations.

Ipad 3s for everyone using OneDrive (or SkyDrive, they keep changing names) and Office 365 for iPad - 5 licenses for $99 a year. I tried on Android and had serious synching issues with Excel. I tried Skydrive for Business and it was too fucking hard to explain to everyone, whereas the personal version (free) is great. On top of that, I purchased all 5 iPad 3s used in Malaysia at an average price of $250 a piece (16GB, wifi only.)

I did have my eye on the Surface Pro 3, but for our set up, not worth the price.

So I guess the answer is - whatever works for your situation.

Exactlamundo :thumbsup

There are si many varieties of PC, many of them are waaay cheaper than macs. No surprise that cheaper ones would be more prone to having problems.

The HD on my MacBook Pro failed this year. I seized the opportunity to install a 750gb drive. I had the Genius Bar run some tests on it and apparently my battery is around 65% capacity to I've ordered a new one.

All in all, this is the best laptop I've ever owned.

I paid for my lenovo around 700 $ almost 3 years ago and I still love this ultrabook. light, 12'5 screen, ideal for travel (which actually I do a lot)

So I guess that for 1000 $ you can get something really nice from them these days...forget about touchscreens and windows 8, just my :2 cents:

the only problem that lenovo (and ibm before) has is the tape connecting motherboard with LCD. sometimes it gets broken (actually it happened in almost every lenovo that I had), but usually it happens during 2 year warranty.... if not - cost of repairing it is around 100 $...

Airs also more netbook than ultrabook..

One thing PC users can do that Mac users can't:

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse....ages/stfu2.jpg

Ever notice how most Mac users are skinny? It's because of all the calories they burn because they can't shut the fuck up about how great their Macs are. What is it about Apple that makes its users unable to shut their mouths? Everywhere I go, there's another asshole with a Mac preaching about how much better Macs are than PCs. They regurgitate lines directly from Apple's marketing campaign, like "it just works." I have the following rebuttals to this argument:

1. If everything on a Mac just works, then why does a website called "Mac fix it" exist, assholes? Here are a few choice topics on macfixitforums.com:

-Login window stuck!
-lower caSe "S" key not working!!
-Menu bar keeps flashing
-I can't drag and drop!

Waaaah, boo hoo! I can't drag and drop! Dumbass. Looks like your Macs aren't perfect after all, which leads me to my second point:

2. Fuck you.

I don't know why Mac users get so defensive when you call them idiots. I mean, Apple is a company that has built its entire user base around the fact that its users can't do simple things like turn their computers on. Hell, most Mac users can't even talk without using their hands, which ranks their intelligence somewhere between a simian and hog shit:

Stupid user base aside, I will never own a Mac. It's not so much that I'm a PC loyalist. I'm not. It's that I'm not stylish enough to own one. Most iPod commercials feature guys with long hair, chicks roller skating, and guys wearing fedoras. I have dandruff, and I buy most of my jeans from a grocery store. I feel like in order to have a Mac, I need to be:

An artist.
In a band.
Unemployed (see above).

After the recent Apple conference, Mac fans were elated. One person was quoted as saying "I've had a Macintosh now for a total of 35 days, and I'm really excited to be part of the Mac community." Part of the Mac community? It's a computer, not a social movement, asshole! I feel like Apple is not just selling computers, they're selling a way of life, and I'm not ready to be that heavily invested in a product. I think this parody helps illustrate Apple's unspoken message:

iTunes is the new Real Player:

In doing research for this article, I decided to reinstall iTunes, a program I hadn't used since version 4 (now on 7). Here it is, just working:

Back in the late 90s, everyone used Real Player. Then those cocks at Real Network got greedy, and tried to get their application to take over your entire PC, and people stopped using it. Same thing is happening with Quicktime now. You can't install Quicktime anymore unless you download bullshit iTunes. This section was supposed to be longer, but I couldn't even install iTunes so I could bitch about it. Not that I could have used it for what I wanted to anyway:

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/images/eula.gif

From the actual iTunes End User License Agreement.

If I want to manufacture biological weapons with my copy of iTunes, I will, fascists. Ditch this bullshit.

The shit breaks down just like anything else these days and it all comes from the same factories in China

But unfortunately for some people Apple has become a cult. They're computer pretty much would have to explode and take out their family dog before they start to consider the idea that Apple might not be as "perfect" as they've told to believe.

If you ever want a laugh then buy yourself a coffee and sit across the street from an Apple store. It'll take you 5 minutes to see the iRelgion for what it is.

I was going to comment but I am too busy working on my Mac which has never broke down, which I got when my last Mac broke down, after 8 years of hard use. But I am not supposed to violate the TOS and talk about that.

tony286 11-10-2014 10:55 AM

Its easy for an OS to be wonderful when you only support 12 pieces of hardware you also made. Where windows has to support over a million possible combinations. Since windows xp, Ive never had a problem, no blue screens of death. And I also own a 2013 macbook pro retina which tends to run hot and really doesnt like any other browser except safari.

I just attempted to wipe and install Yosemite on a Macbook Pro. It won't install and I go to Google to see what's up.

Seems there's a problem with the installer and the fact that I upgraded the RAM without paying a 500% markup to Apple. Ton's of people pissing and moaning about it.

Third party RAM? I've done three so far. This is the only one with upgraded RAM that I purchased elsewhere.

Apple is aware and will be installing for me tomorrow at the Apple Store. Unfortunately, I don't know know where my original RAM is.

Check the post above. They know it's an issue too. And it's only certain 3rd Party memory. I'm guessing Apple doesn't have a deal with Corsair.

Oddly enough, the Hackintosh boxes were updated within 24 hours of Yosemite release without a single issue.
