Once again you're wrong.

Clearly you don't understand development and tools available to you. Because once again, I can develop all major mobile OS apps on all 3 major computer OS's.

Dig deep, you'll find out. And no you don't have to hack Windows, no you don't have to use a Hackintosh either.

What's even great is I can do all this from the same codebase, for all 3 major mobile operating systems.

You're obviously talking about LiveCode or similar.

The problem with LiveCode (I own an Enterprise License) is that for anything other than stack based applications it's useless. Try writing an app with extensive use of Metal in LiveCode, for all the trouble that will cause you - you'd be better off using the right tool and the right tool is Xcode on a Mac.

Mac OS X is UNIX certified, however the kernel is Mach.

Until everyone switches to Swift, Objective-C will still be the main driver of iOS development .. but its days are likely numbered.

While Cocoa and Cocoa Touch are ObjC based there will always be a place of ObjC , even running inside Swift apps.

Fact of the matter is 99% of developers, especially you would never be in their shoes so don't be so worried about such performance reasons.

Web apps are not native apps, apples and oranges.

Look into Trigger.io and Apache Cordova. Using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build native apps using WebView.

These apps are built natively. They are not web apps.

Maybe do some research on the subject at hand before you start slinging retardation around the place? I can develop Android, Windows Phone, iOS and even Blackberry apps on Mac, Linux and Windows.

But I wouldn't expect a simpleton to know that.

Now get the fuck off my lawn.

To develop iOS apps, you need:

A Mac computer running OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or later

Xcode

iOS SDK

Xcode is Apple’s integrated development environment (IDE). Xcode includes a source editor, a graphical user interface editor, and many other features. The iOS SDK extends the Xcode toolset to include the tools, compilers, and frameworks you need specifically for iOS development.

You can download the latest version of Xcode for free from the App Store on your Mac. (You need OS X version 10.8 to download Xcode. If you have an earlier version of OS X, you need to upgrade.) The iOS SDK is included with Xcode.

Note: Development of iOS apps requires an Intel-based Macintosh computer with the iOS SDK
installed. For information about how to get the iOS SDK, go to the iOS Dev Center.

Not going to dick around on Google to find workarounds how to make an App, when the first thing I am told BY APPLE THEMSELVES THAT I NEED A MAC TO MAKE APPS. Not like it ruined my day anyway, I just had some interest until Apple killed it.

Now go suck your dad dry so he don't breed any more asshats.

You're a prime example of why I support abortion up until the fetus is 225 months.

Gee, I wonder why they'd say that? Maybe because they want to control the ecosystem and sell more Macs? The truth is that you CAN develop for iOS on Windows, it's just not ideal. I don't know why any serious developer would use Windows with a straight face anyway .. it's not even *NIX-based.

@dicknipples

Please forget my last sentence. I was in a quite bad mood yesterday and your comments didn't really help. Sorry I regret that.

I went to Apples site to expect the tools for programming, only to be told Mac needed. Didn't really go further than that when I know how restricted Apple are with their stuff.

if mac users were fanatical about their cars instead of computers, it would go something like this:

"I went to pick up my kids from school in my chevy"
"so I was driving in my chevy, and this guy almost crashed into me"
"Hey, I'll be late, I'm stuck in traffic in my chevy"
"oh? you are going to get your oil changed? I have never changed oil in my chevy and it still runs great!"
"I'll pick you up at 8, in my chevy"...
"I turn the ignition, and my chevy 'just works'"

or if they were fanatical about tools:

"so I was fixing my kids bike with my craftsman tool set"
"I put together some furniture today, with my crafstman screw driver.."

etc. etc... :1orglaugh

just think about it... would a normal person EVER mention the fact that they used a craftsman screw driver when putting together furniture? then why would anyone EVER mention they used a mac when sending out an email?

FUCKING SPOT ON :thumbsup
