I suspect, the switch the mozilla guys did had more to do with privacy then SERPs, because as we all know when it comes Google's core product (search)... they do it better than anyone.

:2 cents:

Yes as they been at top for long time so they accumulated large number of natural backlinks so basically they dont need to buy new backlinks.Only new tube sites need to buy backlinks, tho a lot of them dont give a shit anymore about seo, they just concentrate on promoting embeds and their gallery traffic programs.

Yes and where did you get the unfounded idea that they don't?

A lot of what we do every day without thinking about it is trying to fool Google - If they don't play with algorithms etc we all moan because sites we don't like are too high in the SERPS.....

I get that just saying with no competition they could change the algorithm to stick your thumb in your ass while you masturbate or get no rankings and everyone will run to stick their thumb in their ass.

Be nice to see a major competitor actually succeed or for all adverisers/users to not spend any $ or do any searches at Google for a month so they can realize that their whole business model relies on our data which they obtain for free. I won't shed a tear if the day ever comes where they and their God like behaivor get knocked off the top.

Trouble is that Google is hand in glove with the social sites that it promotes, and everyone loves. It's search results reflect where the web is going.

Bing looks like it's in isolation, pushing a separate web experience. If it could convert separate into alternative, then it might stand a chance.

Google vs. Bing? User Traits & Demographics; Where Best to Advertise

87% of Bing users come from Internet Explorer!
Bing users are more-so blue collar than white collar.
Bing searchers are for the most part, 35+ in age.
Bing searchers are more likely to have children, based on their age.

weewilly 11-21-2014 07:11 AM

Yahoo paid for that change. I believe there is an article at Cnn Money about this

It's really not going to make that much of a difference from a webmaster's POV, mainly because of this:

Well last time I checked there was hardly a month without being approached and asked for backlinks to the Manwin tube network, deep links related to the site's content.

You're a dumbass. Bing is a great search engine and FF has a huge user base.

Yahoo has always sucked, so I don't know why this is some kind of scary news for Google.

Google will never be unseated.
