That is true but not totally... the reason all of the purchased links haven't hurt them that much is because their domain authority is so high (or with sites like pornhub.com) - the real reason the porn tubes went to the top of the heap is because people go there and view the content for a long time, stay on the site for a long time, and a come back.

I suspect, the switch the mozilla guys did had more to do with privacy then SERPs, because as we all know when it comes Google's core product (search)... they do it better than anyone.

Yes as they been at top for long time so they accumulated large number of natural backlinks so basically they dont need to buy new backlinks.Only new tube sites need to buy backlinks,tho a lot of them dont give a shit anymore about seo,they just concentrate on promoting embeds and their gallery traffic programs.

Be nice to see a major competitor actually succeed or for all adverisers/users to not spend any $ or do any searches at Google for a month so they can realize that their whole business model relies on our data which they obtain for free. I won't shed a tear if the day ever comes where they and their God like behaivor get knocked off the top.

Trouble is that Google is hand in glove with the social sites that it promotes, and everyone loves. It's search results reflect where the web is going.

Bing looks like it's in isolation, pushing a separate web experience. If it could convert separate into alternative, then it might stand a chance.

Well last time I checked there was hardly a month without being approached and asked for backlinks to the Manwin tube network, deep links related to the site's content.
