Yeah, the riot is the worse because nobody suffers, decides to move, closes, quits or divest just because they saw a dead body bleeding in the street.

Being mad and upset is one thing but inciting a riot he should be charged.

Well, I'm thinking that it wouldn't be the smartest thing right now for a grand jury to indict him.
That seems like the best way to grant him his wish.

Exactly, the people rioting, stealing and burning buildings don't give a fuck about Michael Brown or his family. They are thugs that see this as an opportunity to cause mayhem. Fucking animals.

You'd have more success at teaching a pig to sing than instilling logic in these people.

The mother standing on the roof of a car functioned as a beacon...a lightning rod for all the thugs to trash the city. They just awaited the green light from the family. She knew exactly what she was doing by standing on the roof so everyone could see her. They played up to the crowd and incited everyone to act out.

But what I find almost as insidious is the media attempting to cover up and candy coat her behavior, not reporting it until raw footage was leaked. But sadly, that's nothing new.

IMO - a portion of the blame for the trashing of Ferguson last night is on her shoulders. She made the rallying cry and got the ball rolling.

Business will close down and leave, and the blaques will spread like cockroaches to infest other white areas.

I'd love to be one of the business owners in that area. I'd be sitting inside with a Mossberg waiting for visitors, like Charles Bronson in his shack in Death Hunt.

i get the whole scenario? from reading the testimony released today?

no one in their right mind does what he did to the officer initially. Had he acted like a normal, rational person this would have been avoided.

but? we as taxpayers? the police spent millions of our dollars on non-lethal arms.. like stun guns? the officer said in his own words, i didn't carry one because it was too heavy and uncomfortable.

if he had? perhaps the kid would have been zapped?. unconscious and arrested? as he should have been.

Or maybe the cop shoots in the leg or something?

aren't they trained to use a weapon?

but shooting 10 times?

i mean, that doesn't strike you as a wee bit excessive?

And where's the backup? I mean where I live, and get a traffic ticket there's 2 cop cars up your rear end?

here we have like 3 people a year that get shot by police and every time its a huge discussion if it was really justified

there are 2 possibilities: our bad guys are lot less bad or US police officers are lot more trigger happy

The 10th and final kill shot is when he finally went down flat on his face. He was obviously still standing and moving forward as the blood shows until the one to the head. Adrenaline is great in ways, in others not.

The killing of Michael Brown by police in Ferguson, Missouri, was no anomaly: As we reported yesterday, Brown is one of at least four unarmed black men who died at the hands of police in the last month alone. There are many more cases from years past. As Jeffrey Mittman, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Missouri chapter put it in a statement of condolence to Brown's family, "Unarmed African-American men are shot and killed by police at an alarming rate. This pattern must stop."

You can't know something is true if you weren't there, unless the evidence proves it. Education is key here. If people don't even understand the laws that they live under, how can they interpret them correctly?

Here are facts:

1) MB committed robbery at a liquor store. Proven fact with physical evidence.
2) MB committed an assault on the liquor store owner. Proven fact with physical evidence.
3) Brown becomes a suspect and a BOLO is issued by Ferguson PD.
4) Wilson identifies MB carrying stolen cigarillos and attempts to detain and question. Proven fact with evidence.
5) Brown attacks the policeman, committing additional felonies of assault, etc. Proven fact with evidence.
6) Officer fears for his life under use of force laws and fires his weapon at MB. Proven fact with evidence.
7) Brown stumbles back from the shot and attempts to flee the crime scene. Proven fact with evidence.
8) Wilson pursues MB and orders to stop. Proven fact with evidence.
9) Brown turns and charges Wilson creating a threat to Wilson's life under deadly force laws. Proven fact with evidence.
10) Wilson fires repeatedly into MB to stop the threat under use of force and deadly force authorization laws. Proven fact with evidence.
11) MB is subdued by the rounds fired and expires on the street. Proven fact with evidence.
13) Multiple black witnesses recount the same story as Officer Wilson's story. Proven fact with evidence.
14) Black grand jury members find that there is no evidence to indict Officer Wilson.

I fail to find a murder in this massive pile of physical evidence that is without assumption or biased.

Surely the Brown family can see that the evidence in it's purest, and most physical form indicates that their son made a series of very bad decisions that ultimately caused him to lose his life under the guidelines of the very laws designed to protect everyone equally.

People need to set aside emotion and look at the facts and the application of law. They are completely missing the point on law. The law says that if an officer fears for his life or the life of another, he CAN and will shoot you. Legally.

Not sure what people are really missing here. It's not murder if it's legal, unless YOU say so of course. But that isn't what counts. We live by and under laws in this country, not what a specific subset of the population decides is right or wrong.

:2 cents:

Most people fail to understand there are different types/degrees of homicide, including justifiable homicide, within the laws and considered by the courts. I believe a civil suit is coming from this as well that may have an interesting result.

Attention police officers. Do you have BPFS ---- or Black Panic Fire Syndrome? If so, call the hotline now for black people training.

When you see black people does your right index finger automatically spasm, as if pulling a phantom trigger? Do you release your bowels? Call now.

You are delusional. A jury is not going to question officer Wilson's following of the police department's terms of engagement. What are they going to find? That Wilson should have ran away and waited for backup?

I'd be surprised if there was a civil trial. No lawyer is going to work pro bono on a case they know can't be won and then be labeled as the guy who "screwed up" the case. And nobody is going to donate the funds to pay for a lawyer because they know it's like flushing the money down the toilet.

Both.

It is not a simple question, but peoples lives and moral choices are very much decided by their birth situation. And the governments lack of support in the form of jobs and education for the poor.
I would suggest watching "The Wire" and consider the choices each character in the program has and had and then who are the "good and bad".

I would also recommend The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo

He studies why people behave the way they do often because of the institutions they work in. Police trained to see black and poor people as criminals.
