You can't pick a group of white people who were enslaved and equate it to the black experience up until this point. Irish people haven't been discriminated against and treated as second class citizens for many years after they were slaves -- probably because their skin is the right color. You have an amazing skill for putting things in perspective.

I was commenting on the other guys claims that slavery is still relevant today and a "cause" of a the majority of ills of a small segment of the black population in the USA. In desperation, he changed subjects to segregation laws which is irrelevant to what i or the other guy was saying... hence, my remark.

His message is positive. And you can knit pick the way he started it out or ended it or whatever....the truth is that regardless of your race, if you choose let your background be your excuse for not succeeding, you will never succeed.

yes you can...if you would educate yourself you would see that skin color is not the issue. the Irish were discriminated against and still are in many areas... in fact that was the big deal about JFK....
